Oop, Daylight Savings Time ended in USA (and Canada). Friendly reminder to manually change your time zone in the forum settings.

Validations of tasks finished by both wingmen, seems to have fallen to extremely low levels now. Something is wrong with the validators. The number of Pending Validation tasks increase very fast.
----------------------------------------But today is Sunday, and I will not bother Igor and Dylan with that. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Nov 2, 2025 11:55:58 AM] |

Yup -- I got my first blocked items around 13:00 UTC but there are are posts over in a News forum that suggest the issue may have started an hour or more earlier. It is the same grouping of WUs again...
----------------------------------------By the way, I have checked my boinc.log files for all attempted uploads for results in the problem group, to see whether any results actually uploaded at the first attempt during the intervals between Dylan doing something to re-enable uploads and the next time it starts to fail again -- as one would hope/expect, there were some :-) Cheers - Al. I think I have a problem with profiles. This is a representative entry from my log file when selecting "ALL DEVICES"; "Mapping Cancer Markers" project and "In Progress" for SERVER STATUS: MCM1_0241631_9778_1 <snip> In Progress 2025-11-02 06:28:28 UTC 2025-11-08 06:28:28 UTC In particular, I have made several changes to the profile for this system and I have seen no indication in the log file that the new profile was downloaded to that or any other computer.Items per page: 25 1–25 of 2309 items Currently, I only have about 8 of my 25+ computer systems online and my typical In Progress value should only be about 200-300 WU's. Further, of the 8 cores available, BOINC has decided to only use 3 on one particular computer - the others use all cores. Edited to add the Project Limits info: Africa Rainfall Project 4 Mapping Arthritis Markers Unlimited Mapping Cancer Markers Unlimited OpenPandemics - COVID-19 6 Anyone have any ideas? (I had wanted to wait until the upload/download problem was resolved before posting this.) I have the *same problem* and it all started right after the project came back from the "upgrade". None of my computers or android phones are receiving any work and and my device page shows that I supposedly 113 devices attached to the project. My 2 active Android phones show up way too many times to count and don't change venues or anything like that on update. Seems my Android phones get new id numbers each time they connect and request work. ![]() ![]() |

Everything was fine an hour ago, but now getting the upload issues again. @UnixchickYup, same here now. Soon I will not be able to get any new work. However, I have made sure to have enough WCG work to last me a couple of days. I suspected that the problem would come back and bite us again. This time though, I will not bother the team. It's Sunday after all..... [Edit 3 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Nov 2, 2025 7:36:39 PM] |

Re upload problems...
----------------------------------------At 18:40 UTC today I spotted a task finishing and failing to upload that didn't appear to be from the same [tentative] grouping I'd suggested for the earlier issues. I had a look at my other systems and found a few more. Here's a few of the earliest ones to fail on various systems (abbreviated information cut from BOINC logs): MCM1_0241654_1500_1
I fear that we may be seeing the same issue starting to show up on another node. If this is an issue with the Kafka stuff, I don't envy Dylan as he tries to sort it out It would be nice to get a few words telling us what's happening. Given that there also seems to be a build-up of "both results Pending Validation" again (along with an accompanying drop in the number of results apparently assimilated and reaching delete state 1), could it be that things are simply too busy??? PROJECT STATUS appears to be the place to post this question:
Is the active research active? Can WCG infrastructure support it? Where are the problems? |

MCM is on and off active as they fix some bugs, once they fix the bugs in MCM it should be easy to bring ARP and MAM to active status as well. The WCG hardware got a big upgrade. Now they are upgrading the software and are having some issues. |

Yeah, this is not good at all now. Most of my finished tasks do not upload, and almost no tasks are being validated, even though both tasks are in "Pending Validation". But on a more positive note, I still have WCG work left, to last me at least a couple of days.
