Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

The traffic jam is real. I'm sorry to the MCM runners as ARP has made it hard for you to get your WUs too.

I thought some of the downloads would be flowing easier now. It is hard to tell if it is any better a day later. My downloads are still getting stuck, but I only have to manually retry to get 5 files and not a bunch more ??

Hopefully by the 48 hr mark I'll be able to see visible improvement.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Still pretty slow here as well. We received a few that we processed, but not much.

At least we were able to try the new workstation for an ARP1 task (which was what it was mainly built for) and it was impressively fast. Proof of workstation function and that their hard work paid off!

And, for those wondering, it will not be "hogging" ARP1... it will run 1, maybe 2, at a time.

looking at the stats, it looks like there is a bandwidth problem. This is going to be a slow go. They should limit how many go out per hour, so the WUs can be downloaded, and MCM people have a chance too.

I'll be honest that since I'm only doing 2 at a time, and it takes 16 hours, I'm not hitting the server often. I've got 2 running, 2 waiting, and 2 slowly downloading. I might go to just 1 downloading, to see if that is better. unfortunately my 2 running finish at about the same time, and then upload at the same time, and download at the same time. I need to get them out of sync.

Absolutely correct.

Want to make sure everyone sees this ARP post https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...ead,46889_offset,0#699594

I'm so happy they are communicating and working on the issue. There will always be issues, but it is nice to know they are acknowledged and worked on.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Someone seems to have been having some success (150+ tasks, though number of client systems not specified...)

I don't know whether that's a lucky user or not -- I have had 70+ ARP1 tasks rejected because one of the download files got truncated, less than a dozen successful ARP1 tasks and a 50% (or more) reduction in the amount of MCM1 tasks I've managed to collect and process over the last three days :-( ...

Cheers - Al.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

I think Headcrash?? had made me a nice image that I could imbed in the first post and it would update hourly. It broke on Halloween. I'm going offline for a week, but I'll look at fixing that when I get back, but if someone else has a good fix, feel free to post it.

I'll miss this Sunday's ARP update from Mike, but I promise to get it all linked in when I get back. Save some WUs for me :-)

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Downloads are stalled, and uploads are stalled. today has been the worst connecting to WCG servers so far for me.

Wow a day and a half deadline. Luckily I don't have a queue at the moment, so I will probably finish this in time. I manually had to get it to download, and I'll take the time to manually upload it. I know this something only I can do as a small player in this project.

I'm back, and I see not much has changed. I was hoping the download/upload issue would have been solved. I'm happy to have ARP back, and I'll gladly put up with the issues if that is the only way.

When I looked, Unixchick, which is just now, I was seeing three deadlines of 5 days and a half. Just saying. biggrin

I'm back, and I see not much has changed. I was hoping the download/upload issue would have been solved.
These things take time, I'm afraid.
I'm happy to have ARP back,
I'm glad ARP1 is back, too, and that there are new projects looming.
and I'll gladly put up with the issues if that is the only way.
If indeed it turns out to be the only way, that's what it is.
