I wonder why they don't use "Notifications" facility in BOINC client. That would make too much sense! ![]() |

They should post their info on the BOINC board. It's has an uptime of almost 100%. If it goes down, it goes down for just minutes for backups and such. They could for example post on this thread, which is used only for WCG issues: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14949 They need to ditch this "custom" software for the forums and website that IBM started with and just move to the BOINC template like most all other projects. It's outdated and I can't imagine the security holes in this forum software that is almost a decade old and now longer supported. |

I brought (2) additional / new machines online yesterday, and like everyone else, they've not received any WU's for their maiden voyage.
Most all of the systems here have run dry. -- Extremely odd, when I downloaded my Results today, (1) of the new machines was listed in the extract! This box is new, the machine name has never been used before (I increment as I add), and has never seen the light-of-day WCG-wise. It's not even listed in the website's Devices list since it's never been added yet. However, WCG's database has it listed as having been sent 256 WU's two-weeks ago ? -- I believe I'll have to send that to Support once things have settled-down. I don't know if there's a limit to machine names in the database but this has (16) characters. -- Since it's midday Friday, I don't know that we'll see any new WU's before next week unfortunately. I perhaps ought to be initializing my Backup Projects sorrowfully. |

Extremely odd, when I downloaded my Results today, (1) of the new machines was listed in the extract! Machines are identified by their host ID and CPID, not by their names, so that can't be the issue. Have you by any chance reused BOINC data folder from some retired machine? This box is new, the machine name has never been used before (I increment as I add), and has never seen the light-of-day WCG-wise. It's not even listed in the website's Devices list since it's never been added yet. However, WCG's database has it listed as having been sent 256 WU's two-weeks ago ? -- I believe I'll have to send that to Support once things have settled-down. Hi Link64.
----------------------------------------No. This was a brand new machine that I received Friday, new BOINC install, and latest Debian OS that I wanted to try (I've been running v11 on all others but decided to put latest v12 on this one to see how it does), It's so new that it still doesn't show in the <Devices> list either. I've never ventured into trying to copy Data folders, etc, from previous -- always install new. Like mentioned in the original, this machine had never seen the light-of-day WCG wise. WU's are coming-through and I'm going to let it crunch on those to see if the WCG Database fixes itself before saying anything to Support (it'll be a slower process since my Backup Project that I was running while WCG wasn't sending anything, has to complete those tasks first). Just odd... [Edit 3 times, last edit by Spiderman at Oct 24, 2023 5:05:18 AM] |

My Android tablet is getting enough work but only when I do it manually.
