Some of my tasks are not showing up in the "Results" section of the website. They're in my queue on the devices, just now showing up online.
----------------------------------------Edit: I checked the "Results" page just now, and all my results are showing up correctly. This is no longer an issue.

There is problem with HTTP service and of course no new WUs. |

Another issue after the short outage for the firmware update:
----------------------------------------Changes to the device profile, in Device Management, does not propagate to BOINC. I changed one of my profiles after the outage was finished, to also allow for SCC1 tasks, but BOINC still thinks that my last update to the profile was as my BOINC log says: "General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 26-Sep-2023 05:02:59" (UTC+2 ) And of course, since the profile change did not propagate to BOINC, that device does not ask for SCC1 tasks, but only for project tasks that I already had selected before the outage. Why are there so many subsequent problems that occur after routine maintenance on an unrelated system? This was just some kind of firmware update.

Why are there so many subsequent problems that occur after routine maintenance on an unrelated system? This was just some kind of firmware update. Well, a firmware upgrade, specially when it involves storage infrastructure as it was apparently the case here, has always the potential to cause some issues. The basic problem at hand is something that has plagued WCG Towers since they took over the project and "activated" it again now 15 months ago: A total lack of communication, in fact censoring posts that point this fact out as well as those that point out there are problems creeping up. I have posted shortly after "the system came back up" yesterday afternoon that there seems to be something not right. But that post didn't reach any body, even if they would have cared, and then nobody was doing actually a proper system check after the upgrade was done. WCG Towers rather decides to be spiteful and ignore early warnings then to act on them, potentially (a) day(s) later.... Ralf |

Edit: Just checked and the Results page is back, but slower than rush hour traffic. Not here, just getting nauseating progress bars, even after trying to refresh... Ralf |

Results page takes 30-60 seconds to load, but when it does, everything is okay.
----------------------------------------Still getting "HTTP service unavailable" in BOINC and cannot report results or get new work. I'm still able to upload finished work. Edit: I'm able to report all results now, and I'm no longer getting the "HTTP service unavailable" error message.

The issues still persists. And in less than 15 minutes the staff at the data center, and the WCG team will leave for the day.
----------------------------------------So, don't expect anything to change until tomorrow (Toronto time), at the earliest. However don't be surprised if it takes until mid next week. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Sep 27, 2023 8:50:00 PM] |
