Thank you. 74 hours sounds like Monday. Progress seems to be happening.

Dr. J.:
----------------------------------------Can we help 'stage' the re-start, to avoid a massive surge? We can maybe 'suspend' WCG activities right now, then 'resume' in alphabetic order by username ... that is, A through E on Tuesday, F through J on Wednesday, etc. Or would that make no difference? Also: Thanks VERY MUCH for the updates! ![]() ![]() |

Dr. J.: There's probably less than 1% of all users who even read the WCG forum. A large portion of users are of the "set and forget" type, and many of those, have forgotten that they even installed BOINC and attached to WCG.Can we help 'stage' the re-start, to avoid a massive surge? We can maybe 'suspend' WCG activities right now, then 'resume' in alphabetic order by username ... that is, A through E on Tuesday, F through J on Wednesday, etc. Or would that make no difference? Also: Thanks VERY MUCH for the updates! ![]() So, drop that idea, it would make no difference whatsoever, if only we who are on the forum follow that scheme. Unless of course, it can be controlled by the BOINC server. [Edit 5 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Mar 24, 2023 9:26:20 PM] |

As I understand it, the first order of business is to ONLY receive the completed WU’s.
----------------------------------------Then process those completed WU’s. Verify validation. When that is all cleared and some other goals accomplished: THEN AND ONLY THEN will new WU’s be released. Edited minor typo. [Edit 1 times, last edit by bfmorse at Mar 24, 2023 9:42:41 PM] |

as for the help - logistic is tricky considering we run from a different data centre - and of course we cannot give access to a broad group thank you all for your support Igor For those interested in providing technical support, at what level do they need to engage to get officially authorized? Jurasica? Krembil? UNH? |

Re. the server resart process, keep in mind that our BOINC clients won't ask for new work while there are large numbers of stalled uploads anyway.
