When you do do the update it shows IBM pages, not Krembil, that you are to agree to.

If you use the Add project... tool in BOINC Manager, and scroll down to World Community Grid in the project list, it uses https ://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ as the project URL.
This https URL generates the "you need to change the URL" message, so it would be good to change it for new users. Also, when you add WCG, the Terms of Use still refer to IBM. |

This afternoon (French time) download started for three OPN work-units. I was not at the PC at the time but two WUs were having the transient HTTP error again: see examples from log:

I am seeing the same issue. Retries have not been successful. I added http_debug flag to the log file and saw a 503 error return from my latest retry.

I also got HTTP error on downloading ARP files. Got one ARP WU waiting.

I'm guessing the issue with common files for each project not downloading easily is due to a lot of us trying at the same time. I just sat here clicking "Retry" for half an hour to get all the files. Everything works fine after that, same as with OPN and MCM.

One minor error is that it keeps giving me this notice: "This project seems to have changed its URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ ". I would prefer if this is changed to "https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ " since that is the URL preloaded in the BOINC client, and using bare HTTP over the internet is irresponsible in this day and age. We should be using HTTPS instead at a minimum.

... and using bare HTTP over the internet is irresponsible in this day and age. We should be using HTTPS instead at a minimum. It's not banking. Heck it's not even Facebook or Google. Anybody looked in on you they get a little bit of ASCII and probably a bunch of binary code.Just some damn distributing computing junk, not even blockchain... ;) |

We should be using HTTPS instead at a minimum. Gosh, as mentioned soooooo many times by now, simply ignore this message for now! It happens because the BOINC client notices a change in the URL while the Krembil folks are working on getting this whole thing working again. There is no need to complain about it, and there is no need to change anything. Just ignore it, even that http/https part, it is totally irrelevant at this point!  |
