Yes probably. They do not work on "normal" weekends, so why would they work on Christmas?

I got 3 MCM about an hour ago, but the log now shows "No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers"

Since this is the only project with any substantial work units, it either means the feeder is empty or is too busy with all the requests. Or, somebody forgot to fill the feeder with a 3 day supply to get us through Dec. 26.
Cheers

Edit: Corrected the project name.

Re: Workunits are being sent out

There should be "enough" workunits. From my calculations there are about 10,000 workunits released in half an hour.

Workunit 235725000 was released at 2022-12-24T22:03:10.
Workunit 235735000 was released at 2022-12-24T22:34:40.
(UTC, of course cool )

99.9% of them are MCM1-workunits at the moment.

Re: Workunits are being sent out

For what it's worth, it appears that at present a new batch of ARP1 isn't built/sent out until the previous batch has completely returned (based on watching the figures in the daily generations stats files.) And that means that the more retries are needed for work not returned in timely fashion (whatever the reason) the longer it will be before a new batch is released :-(

And, of course, OPN1/OPNG are off at present, pending the new target(s), so that leaves us with only MCM1. So be it :-)

And on a different note -- season's greetings to one and all...

Cheers - Al.

P.S. I don't know how long it'll take to get all this batch or of ARP1 back, but the longest delay in the previous batch seemed to be for one or two tasks that took over 21 days from start to finish!

[Edit - noticed a [minor] typo!]

Re: Workunits are being sent out

There may be 10000 sent out in half an hour, but it isn't enough. I'm seeing my total steadily declining, now at 570 - of which 88 are active - down from 1000 half a week ago.

In the logs I see 194 completed vs 166 downloaded over the past 12 hours. That has been going on for some time now. Strangely enough, my machines with less cores have more units. I'm not sure how the server handles '8 results uploaded, asks for work, get 1 task' situations. I see many like those here.

Your machine with 88 threads may be too fast devilish at the moment, I'm afraid, thunder7.
WCG is issuing new MCM-workunits at a pace of nearly 10,000 workunits each half hour.
Earlier I reported:
Workunit 235725000 was released at 2022-12-24T22:03:10.
Workunit 235735000 was released at 2022-12-24T22:34:40.

Maybe 'distributed' is a better term.

I'm also seeing that as soon as a workunit is generated, already some seconds later it is being gobbled up by two clients.

Here are some more statistics, 10,000 workunits (steps) apart from each other:

235750000 | 2022-12-24T23:38:56

Re: Workunits are being sent out

Not sure what happened, but I'm seeing a larger flow coming in here - I'm back at 1000 tasks.

Re: Workunits are being sent out

so we are down to one project.

ARP is intermittent. TB was never at capacity. SCC and OPN are done-ish...

this is scary.
