I'm not having any problems getting work so far. Just received 200 OPN1 WUs in the past hour across 2 machines. Sure, no problems with OPN1, it's the OPNG's and also MCM1's that are hard, and in the case of OPNG impossible to get.I'll only keep my old Laptop with and equally old but functioning GTX660M GPU, running as an OPNG watcher. When I see OPNG's with _0 running on that computer, then I'll start my main GPU cruncher. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Oct 28, 2022 6:13:45 PM] |

OK, it's time to put the breaks on my crunching for WCG (my only project), for the foreseeable future. From tomorrow, my new and extremely expensive electricity contract will start to apply. It can become more than 5 times as expensive as what I pay per kWh now. On top of that, the inflation is high, food and other living expenses, goes up like a rocket
----------------------------------------So no matter if WCG comes back into full production or not, I will only crunch perhaps a couple of tasks/day, just to keep my streak alive. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Oct 31, 2022 1:11:20 PM] |

WUs are coming in more or less regularly. The fluctuation between days is high. I sometime get work for about 9-10 days within 24 hours, but also as low as 2 days per 24 hours.
----------------------------------------Before the switch to Krembil my setup did up to 13 days per 24 hours. I even added two additional GTX 1660S to the setup, but they are idling 99% of the time. Right now there are some WUs queued for download. Their download speed is mind-boggling with 20-40kbytes/s for a 12-14Mbyte file. This just does not seem right. |

"Transient Error" constantly trying to download OPNG tasks.
----------------------------------------(Also, mods...please release me from the jail that the overzealous CaitiLarkin put me inso I can properly!) |

I'm seeing the same old problems: repeated backsteps for downloading times, incredibly slow (less than 50 Kb/sec download speeds, having to repeatedly abuse the retry button to get less than 500 byte files to download). Some days I've seen momentary download speeds over 2Mbps, then it's like I hit a brick wall back to dial-up speeds. I've speed-tested my Internet repeatedly to see if my wifi hotspot and provider are the problem, but they are not. Some cycles of downloading and uploading go well, others are left so long unfinished I forget to even check to see if they ever started or finished downloading, let alone ran.
----------------------------------------But I run what I can get, when I can get it, and send it back when and how I can. I will be delayed, I will be frustrated, but I will not stop so long as there are work units my equipment can run, the power to run my equipment, and life left in my body to do what has to be done to run those work units and get that work back. And I ask all my fellow suffering Crunchers, wherever they may be, with whatever they can bring to the fight, to "come then, let us go forward together with our united strength" (W. Churchill), and continue or rejoin the fight against disease and suffering, drought and famine, by this means we have, whether it is perfect or not. NOW is the time; tomorrow will be too late; let not perfect be the enemy of the good, or of the good enough TODAY.

returned to the autoclicker... /shame There is no need to use an autoclicker. BOINC comes with command line tools to serve this purpose. Simply open a powershell. then run:
The 1st command checks for new downloads. The 2nd command will trigger downloads again if they get stuck. You may want to put this in a loop with a decent sleep (timeout 300) in between so it will not stress the Krembil servers too much(since they seem under enough pressure already). WUs are coming in more or less regularly. The fluctuation between days is high. I sometime get work for about 9-10 days within 24 hours, but also as low as 2 days per 24 hours.... Ever since Friday last week I have seen improvements in terms of WU availability. Starting Sunday afternoon(CET) connection speed and reliability have improved greatly. WUs are downloaded quickly and do not get stuck anymore. I even see GPU tasks come in regularly, at least 3 to 4 batches a day of around 10-15 WUs. Friday was my best day with 459 results returned, when I usually had around 70-120 the days before. I'm happy for the time being... |
