Just checking.. Yes, that's a well know and documented fact. You do realize 5,189,499 WCG points equals only 741,357 points on BoincStats?   1 BOINC point equals 7 WCG points, due to the fact that WCG existed before BOINC and back then used a different method to compute those points... https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/topic.s?shortName=points#45 Ralf I was just making sure dcs1955 wasn't looking for extra points somewhere. Just checking.. You do realize 5,189,499 WCG points equals only 741,357 points on BoincStats? Yes I corrected for that. 741K points to is a lot, plus the associated processing time.   |

Though as what you deem "theft of electricity", well, nobody is twisting your arm, it has been mentioned ad nauseam that the whole setup is still in testing mode, so you have been free all this time to shut your system(s) down or sign up for alternate projects. Ralf If you do something of value for whatever purpose, It is tested and determined valid. That is the completion of the appointed task. NO ONE SAID that this is a special "super duper donation, without any credit" It is not like ANY money is changing hands other than my power bill. NO "super duper donation, without any credit" WARNING MEANS IT IS A MISSREPRENTATION...I can quit and move on I may not return and any other serious crunchers will be tired of being chumps..... When is it likely there will be more workunits for OPNG and ARP? That's something I have been questioning myself, too, Paul; don't they have a warning system or some such when projects are running dry, or is it that there aren't just any WUs available for OPNG? (We've been told "ARP project is starting again with more workunits available soon", so I'm only wondering what is happening with OPNG at the moment.)Both have been dry for days. True. I think we need to remember that projects use the WCG platform, and sometimes the problems are a WCG issue, but sometimes the project has issues (ARP was having issues as reported in an earlier thread - WCG gave them extra drive space, but it seems like that has been used up too now).
Don't be so quick to blame WCG at this point, it could be that the projects don't have WUs to send. |
