Are we in this for the science or the points? ;) ... But here points are a reference for how much work you're doing. After all, the credit points are the reward which we receive four our time and efforts, our hardware and our electricity bill. So I think it is not expected too much that the calculation of these points is fair and correct (I guess no-one would disagree). |

Hmm, I'm only getting OPNG resends, since 3-4 of hours back, and a long time in between.
----------------------------------------I wonder if they stopped sending out new WU's for OPNG? Maybe the team was afraid to inform us, because they thought we would become unruly ![]() Edit: And just as I posted that, I got 18 "new" OPNG tasks...... ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Sep 24, 2021 9:30:44 PM] |

One of the "huge" WU's on my iGPU HD 4600. 259 "jobs", took 5 Hours, 38 Minutes, and 55 seconds. Only 935.6 credit. A "normal" WU, on the iGPU, takes 35-50 minutes, and gets 500-700 in credit. Not good at all, and the credit calculations on spent time, need to be worked on.
Mine is the Microsoft Windows 8.1 computer: OPNG_0087421_00032 <core_client_version>7.16.7</core_client_version> |

BTW, If I wanted the MAX points for the work done, WCG is not the place to be. ![]() Heh... GPUGrid is that way. On WCG I consider anything from the GPU to be gravy (sometimes lots of it). That being said, these last couple of days, my GPU has been mercilessly crunching any tasks that come its way, and it's almost like the stress test days. There are still a few dry spells here and there, but I almost cracked into my top ten yesterday. One thing I've noticed about recent GPU tasks is that they spend less time in CPU mode (the Autogrid phase, if I understand it). I haven't felt any need to try running two tasks on the GPU, since the pipeline can't quite keep up anyway, and I'm not sure there would be much benefit without the long CPU-only gaps. I did take a look at nvidia-smi updated every two seconds and noticed occasional dips in power consumption, so it might still help a bit to run two tasks, provided I had a solid long-term supply of work units to justify it. |
