They have changed Project requested delay from 121 seconds to 91 seconds.

I'm trying out two GPU tasks on my 4 GB GTX 960. So far, so good, at least it has completed its first two units. They're slower than just one alone (go figure), but after the first unit was uploaded, the second one was still crunching away on the GPU while the third unit was still in CPU mode. Hopefully, this should give me some better utilization.
----------------------------------------ETA: Power consumption and GPU temperature are the same as before. ETA2: Seeing a maximum 239 MB per GPU task in nvidia-smi. [Edit 2 times, last edit by spRocket at Apr 28, 2021 4:24:10 PM] |

Uplinger : so how much stuff we finished in almost 1 day of crunching ? :) Sorry if I missed this earlier. We crunched through about 7.5k batches in the first 36 hours. We will continue with this pace until the full 30k batches have been completed. Thanks, -Uplinger how many wus does each batch consist of? ![]() |

Thanks, -Uplinger Hi, I still have not get a single GPU work unit for Intel HD520 and Intel UHD GPUs (been running for couple of weeks now) . Intel HD 4600 is getting some. 3 days ago I reinstalled the win10 on HD 520 laptop, but that didn't seem to help either. (trimmed) Which intel UHD GPUs? I am running on 2 UHD 620 and 1 UHD 630. Where was it installed from? One of my machines was the victim of Windows 10 auto upgrading the driver. I downloaded the full driver (not from microsoft) and reinstalled, then it worked. Not sure if it the driver version actually matters, but here are the ones I am using: 1 UHD with 26.20.100.7262, 1 UHD 620 with 2620.100.8142, 1 UHD 630 with 27.20.100.8681. Rolled back drivers to 26.20.100.xxxx and now boinc shows CL2.1, but the problem persists. I think I'll install linux on one these machines to see if it's better |

A quick followup to running two tasks: Success! No errors or invalids. A few of the ones I crunched were _3 resends (yikes!), that ended up validating against a _2 after _0 and _1 had both errored out. So, I'd say that this card is up to the task, at least.
----------------------------------------ETA: I'm also noticing my power consumption graph is a lot less wiggly. That's an encouraging sign as well, at least on the utilization front. [Edit 1 times, last edit by spRocket at Apr 28, 2021 5:39:30 PM] |

They vary in length, so I have to average them using the BoincTasks estimates. But I think they have stabilized enough for this batch.
----------------------------------------Under Ubuntu 20.04.2: GTX 1060: 7 minutes 37 seconds GTX 750 Ti: 20 minutes 12 seconds No errors or invalids on this batch (around 500 completed). Works for me, though I hope the scientists can make them longer and harder. We seem to be pressing the limits of what they can do. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Jim1348 at Apr 28, 2021 5:53:33 PM] |

Is this test already finished or can I still join? Just read it now...

Still time, just check GPU enabled in profile (Intel was not for me).
----------------------------------------There will be some GPU units even after and more later. Paul.

Apr 27 22:55:45 redacted-hostname boinc[7688]: 27-Apr-2021 15:55:45 [World Community Grid] Your settings do not allow fetching tasks for CPU. To fix this, you can change Project Preferences on the project's web site. Device profile? This notes that settings aren't allowing gpu work. You may want to check that the profile has those checkboxes ticked. These are the key log lines of interest: Apr 27 22:55:45 redacted-hostname boinc[7688]: 27-Apr-2021 15:55:45 [World Community Grid] Requesting new tasks for Intel GPU ...which is my machine asking for Intel GPU WUs, and WCG telling it that it has nothing. That being said, you may be on to something. The only machines that are consistently getting Intel WUs are machines that were either already crunching CPU WUs, or also had Nvidia or AMD GPUs. Intel-only machines that I brought online exclusively to crunch Intel GPU WUs for this stress test have largely sat around waiting for WUs to come. In any case, the Intel GPUs are visible to BOINC, meet the OpenCL version requirements, and my BOINC client is asking for WUs and not getting any. Not sure what else WCG wants me from. ![]() So I tried this out and set one of my idle Intel machines to use a profile that also allowed CPU WUs. In addition to the expected CPU WUs, I immediately got a bunch of Intel GPU WUs as well (which the machine is now happily crunching). Does the "Allow research to run on my CPU?" profile setting consider an integrated GPU to be a CPU? ![]() If so, I suppose that would make sense, but it wasn't the behavior that I expected.
