Ubuntu with Intel GPU is supported and I get valid results.
----------------------------------------Similar(identical?) system under Windows 7 fails, units just hang (Lenovo1). Paul.

By the way, Uplinger. Do you also support Intel GPU under Ubuntu? According to my log it is supported: > Mar 26 20:53:37 server boinc[1227]: 26-Mar-2021 20:53:37 [World Community Grid] Started download of wcgrid_beta29_autodockgpu_7.28_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__opencl_intel_gpu_102 It took me some time to figure out why it would not run under Ubuntu 18.04 on my server. Ubuntu 18.04 seems to lag certain libraries. I had to install the OpenCL Intel libs manually. Use the installation procedure shown here if you still run 18.04: https://github.com/intel/compute-runtime/releases |

By the way, Uplinger. Do you also support Intel GPU under Ubuntu? Yes, Intel GPU is supported on all OS. The problem you might be encountering is that with 9 different versions, there may not be many that allocate for intel on linux. So far it has been a small beta test and there weren't many work units going out originally. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Second iGPU in my i7-4790K CPU finished OK. (Windows 8.1)
----------------------------------------24 "jobs" 32 minutes, 33 seconds. CPU time just 1 minutes, 8 seconds/3.48%. Memory: 311.05 MB, Virtual Memory: 360.54 MB https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1588668701 And with that, the well seems dry for the moment. Hi there,
----------------------------------------got 3 units and all 3 errored out immediately. At least this time without BSODs! ;) Core2quad 9550s, 8GB RAM, NVidia GT 640 with OpenCL 1.2 capable driver. In the lack of computer overview in this project, here the link to the host on milkyway: https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_host_detail.php?hostid=616064 The units: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1588715486 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1588715489 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1588715485 Better luck next time? ;)
Aloha, Uli

Hello,
I have a 4-core Intel CPU with hyperthreading and the Intel 620 GPU. I ordinarily run 8 World Community Grid threads simultaneously. When I am not running this beta the CPU time on the other threads lags the elapsed time by anywhere from 5 to 10 %. (I chalk this up to my using email and browsing on the same machine.) However, when I run this Beta, the other 8 threads elapsed time lags by more like 25 to 30%. Is that normal? I don't see anywhere near such a difference on my other machine when I am using an NVidia GTX 970 to run Einstein@home. It's as if all 8 threads are being penalized for the time the CPU needs to feed the GPU instead of just 1 thread. |

I have 50 units on 1 PC, 30 and 20 on others (all Intel GPUs).
----------------------------------------Are there any limits on numbers? Paul.

----------------------------------------Yes, that is a known issue when running CPU tasks at the same time as the iGPU is running a task. We talked about that extensively in earlier threads during this Beta. Here's an old but still valid external forum thread about that: http://lunatics.kwsn.info/index.php/topic,1735.0.html [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Mar 26, 2021 9:19:20 PM] |

Another small batch tucked away on the RTX2060 on Fedora, this time 3 at a time (with 1 CPU per task). The sweet spot seems to be 2 though - slightly less aggregate throughput with 3 and noticeably higher power consumption.
