A different question though. If I were to set up a task download/in progress limit in the WCG profile settings, say 10, and I allow to run per app_config only 1 CPU WU at a time, but 6 GPU WUs at the same time, will the immediately filled up cache whenever a task scheduler request downloads only CPU work prevent me from getting any GPU work? How does task scheduling work here? Thx

I am getting the released version (OPNG) for both Nvidia (GTX 1650 Super on Win10 and GTX 1060 on Ubunt8 20.04.2), and AMD (RX 570 on Ubuntu 20.04.2).
But one of my Ubuntu machines still doesn't have work, so it looks like the supply may be limited for a while. |

There´s 3 treads about the the GPU release, a bit to much...

My first GPU, (OPMG) work came down yesterday, which was a good plus. [GFX950]
----------------------------------------That was it, though -so batches may be intermittent. GPU Grid was my old go to haunt for heavy GPU medical baled work -but that is 'only' doing 2000 daily current jobs with 100x that capacity available to do work. Certainly the CPU work seems well run here, on WCG -so hopefully they are well on to getting throughput back. [Edit 1 times, last edit by tegz at Apr 7, 2021 12:02:06 PM] |

It will all come down to the global cache size you've set. It the scheduler can fit another task into the work allocation, it will download the task
----------------------------------------Doesn't matter if it is cpu or gpu task. To get a better idea of your work requests, you should set permanently the sched_op_debug flag in your Event Log. It will not write that much information to the log. But it WILL show exactly how many seconds of cpu work and gpu work you are asking for at every connection. If you need to determine WHY you are getting or not getting the expected work, you can set work_fetch_debug. But fair warning, it writes a lot of information to the log. You should only set that parameter for just 1 or 2 cycles of work request connections. Then turn it back off and examine the output. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

will the GPU tasks work with Ampere cards? The reason why I am asking is that I will get 2 RTX3070 in the near future.
