Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 12 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

The GK208 chip is based on the Kepler architecture: the GF108 chip is Fermi architecture. They shouldn't really be in the same range of model numbers. I found this in the Wiki page for OpenCL:

April 13, 2015: Nvidia releases WHQL driver v350.12, which includes OpenCL 1.2 support for GPUs based on Kepler or later architectures. Driver 340+ support OpenCL 1.1 for [Tesla and] Fermi.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 12 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Good afternoon,

We have received an updated pull request from the researcher to fix a bug that has been identified from the beta tests. We will need to run at least 2 more beta tests to confirm things are in better shape.

1. This will have the code changes from researchers
2. quick beta to remove the dlg file from being uploaded (this is just to make sure we don't break validation/assimilation and is quick)

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Thank you Uplinger for the update!

When can we expect the new Beta to start?

Mine is the Kepler variant and is supposedly 1.2 capable according to the stuff I've read. In addition the Khronos group have certified it as 1.2 compatible (albeit with an old driver version that is unavailable now) https://www.khronos.org/conformance/adopters/conformant-products#submission_414

Nope, tried that, only goes back to version 442, but it was version 436 that was certified. Also tried ASUS own site and googling for it to see if othere OEM's had it listed on their sites, but no luck. Too old a version I think.

Hey uplinger, if there is any ETA for the next beta run? Are you in the process of updating the application or are you still waiting for feedback from the research team to incorporate new changes in the code?

Looking forward to the next run!

The tasks from the last beta run haven't even been validated yet, so I guess they have problems or they're just not in a hurry.
