As long as you don't look too deep, and don't bother with "CreditNew", from David Anderson, I'm sure everything will be fine in the end. CreditNew, has been a cause for much debate and grief on SETI@home. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/CreditNew CreditNew is nothing more than a random number generator. Just garbage. ![]() |

Got 4 WUs today on my Win10 Pro PC (latest updates applied): 2 x Opteron 6386 SE + 2 x Nvidia GTX TITAN (driver 461.40).
----------------------------------------Trying to process (1CPU + 0.25GPU). That was the best performer on my machine on previous Beta OPNG tests. All 4 crashed with the "exceeded elapsed time limit" message, after completing 70% - 80% of jobs assigned (based on what I see in the PV Log of my successful wingman). Please see the details: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1567827010 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1567826759 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1567826760 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...og.do?resultId=1567826761 Correction: I did not realize that those 4 WUs were "resends" from 3/12/21. So my GPUs triggered the same "exceeded elapsed time limit" message as before. [Edit 3 times, last edit by SOS_Ready at Mar 17, 2021 3:37:14 AM] |

Please change the Workunit Status sub-page to add Elapsed Time (hours) to the detail lines as per the heading.
----------------------------------------Even more needed for GPU units. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...s.do?workunitId=569933320 Paul.

I'm seeing that already, but for discrete GPUs it might be helpful to change the format to hh:mm:ss, as used elsewhere on the site. Some GPU tasks barely 'trouble the scorer' on the fractional-hour display.

Well, on the "Results Status" page, it shows both values for CPU Time / Elapsed Time (hours), Like x.xx/x.xx
----------------------------------------But on the "Workunit Status" page, although it has a column that says CPU Time / Elapsed Time (hours), it only shows the value for CPU time. On the "Workunit Status" it only shows x.xx with no second part at all for elapsed time. That goes for both CPU tasks and GPU tasks. Well, I got one with a different error message this time on that same machine with the GT730 card. Not sure what to make of this, don't understand that incorrect environment message, and a couple of other folks also errored out on this unit also.

That sounds as if your NVidia driver stack is missing the OpenCL component: from "Error: boinc_get_opencl_ids() failed with error -1".
What does your Event Log report for GPU detection after a restart? |

I'm guessing this is the part you're inquiring about?
CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 730 (driver version 461.09, CUDA version 11.2, compute capability 3.5, 1024MB, 805MB available, 692 GFLOPS peak) OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 730 (driver version 461.09, device version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA, 1024MB, 805MB available, 692 GFLOPS peak) |

I know I asked this before widdershins, but are you sure your GT 730 is OpenCL 1.2 compliant? Over at TechPowerUp, they list two different GT 730's.
----------------------------------------One with 2 GB and another with 1 GB of VRAM. Both are listed as being OpenCL 1.1 compliant and that seems to be the only difference between them. General question: Are there other BOINC projects with apps that require OpenCL 1.2 that maybe widdershins and other users with GPU's that may or may not support OpenCL 1.2 could try? If there is and these cards don't work there either, maybe the issue is that they really only support OpenCL 1.2 in name. I'm just "grasping at straws" really. I also don't know if BOINC GPU detection could be improved by updating from the 7.2.47 version you are running to the latest 7.16.11 but maybe an idea. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz [Edit 3 times, last edit by Falconet at Mar 18, 2021 12:49:11 AM] |

According to wiki, there are 3 GT 730 cards, only 2 are OpenCL 1.2. The 3 cards code names are: GK208-301-A1 using DDR3 memory (1.2); GK208-400-A1 using GDDR5 memory (1.2); GF108 using DDR3 memory (1.1). Probably will need to use GPU-Z to determine which one you have.
