Here are two WUs waiting PV. I have 1000s in this state. The number of WUs completed dropped in half starting sometime on 2/6. Marist Collage, the daily number 1 contributor, normally has over 40,000 points generated each day. Today it is 29,000. Yesterday it was 20,000.
The PV issues is the WCG side. I do not think it is volunteers hoarding WUs. The PV issues is the WCG side. I do not think it is volunteers hoarding WUs. There are (at least) two separate issue with the PV jail. The basic source of the problem that WUs do not get validated is at WCG/Krembil. Something that's stuffed up in the MCM validator(s).The issue with the hoarders is that they just keep exaggerating this issue, but forcing from their end that results are sitting in PV for longer than they should have to even with a working validator... Does not appear fixed yet. 670 in PV this morning. Nope, it is getting worse by the numbers. Cheers There seemed to have been a short time yesterday evening (PST) where the problem might to have eased, when I saw after an external stats run a higher than normal number of points showing up on BOINCstats, but this morning, the mess just continues... Currently at 900 results stuck in PV jail (normally, it's around or just above 200)...  Ralf |

Well, something was moving while I was out of the office. From 900 WU still PV this morning, down to 500. Still about more than twice the usual number...

For me,everything seems pretty much back to normal. Yesterday I had 57 pages of pending validation, now only 14. That is pretty much my average number.

Yeah, when checking this morning, it's still 500 results in PV jail, so while some number of WUs have been validated and cleared, the numbers are still not "back to normal"... It seems to be regressing again. It got down to about 200, but now has gone up to 360.

Yes, I can confirm that problem with validator is back probably from 2023-02-10 13:26:25 UTC.
Here is the oldest WU which I found https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/261037426 MCM1_0196106_8527_0 Win11 PenVal 2023-02-06 20:57:37 UTC 2023-02-09 07:43:29 UTC 2.32/2.32 80.1/0 MCM1_0196106_8527_1 Win10 PenVal 2023-02-06 20:57:35 UTC 2023-02-10 13:26:25 UTC 3.23/3.23 86.4/0 Just IDEA, it would be fine to split current PenVal status to 2 new statuses: * new Pending Validation, where WU is in queue for real validation (all results uploaded to WCG) * and new status like "Waiting for Uploads" (still waiting for Wingman's uploads) With this new setup it will be simple visible where is problem. |
