Re: Covid-19 - Discuss Scientific Papers

Shall we assume that if our efforts result in a cure, or at least a treatment, that said treatment and or cure, will be made free of charge to those who have made the research possible?

Are you serious? Our contribution is a minor factor in the overall costs of making and distributing a drug. It could be important to get the process going, so that drug companies do not have to invest so much upfront in research and development, but it is just a start.

And did you see any offer of free drugs on the WCG website? Let us know.

Re: Covid-19 - Discuss Scientific Papers

The cures for this round are in testing now, from many companies. I consider all of these computer projects to be investments in the future. There will be new viruses that come along. Invest how you like.

Acceptability of App-Based Contact Tracing for COVID-19: Cross-Country Survey Study

Epidemiological evidence shows that app-based contact tracing can suppress the spread of COVID-19 if a high enough proportion of the population uses the app and that it can still reduce the number of infections if uptake is moderate. Findings show that the willingness to install the app is very high. The available evidence suggests that app-based contact tracing may be a viable approach to control the diffusion of COVID-19.
