Sun Dec 1 21:29:48 2019 | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for the applications you have selected Same story past several days. This project is not sending out WUs. Either that or there's a mess of devices acting like zombies grabbing over each other at what ever comes out the shoot. There are probably just 1000/day . At least now it is crap shoot to grab them. Much fairer than when people could schedule to snarf them up ( I know I got 87 days...and feel unclean ... well sort of. Today I got my first randomized ARP WU. I was chuffed!!! This is a huge and worthwhile project... The numbers will happen.. Set to receive WU on all your machines. AND CELEBRATE WHEN YOU GET ONE!! Look at the Project Badge Recognition thread... People are EXCITED GETTING BRONZE!!! BTW DO THE SAME WITH HSTB WHICH IS NOw RANDOMIZED!!!! My great grandfather died of TB, After Alzheimers one of the most vile diseases!!! ![]() ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by dcs1955 at Dec 2, 2019 4:28:16 AM] |

There are around 1500 results being returned each day but 10s of thousand trying to get them. It is pot luck, but I do see a lot of messages saying tasks are committed to other platforms. I use Windows. I presume the other platforms are Linux etc.

However, I didn't unselect other projects. I don't know how WCG assigns work when multiple projects are enabled in profile. It's possible the work cache simply get filled from other projects first each time they request work. |

I've just analysed the messages in the message log on my lappie and of the 170 requests for work it made 70 said there was no work for ARP1 and the other 100 said it was committed to other platforms. That seems excessive, even for a Linux box.
The most recent 10 results were all valid and all returned within two days, so it should be regarded as reliable. Anybody with a reliable Windoze box fancy doing the same analysis? I just hit "Copy All", pasted the clipboard into a WP doc and did a word search for "sent", "committed" and "Africa" (which returned 170, 100 and 70, respectively). [Am I being too pushy? But it does feel like something is still not right.] |

No analysis needed, not had a single deviating response to yours on the one W10 box I have, that's set to have a limited number of MIP1& MCM1 i.e. fairly frequent, but random contacting. Looking at production, smells like the script is still having hiccups. Maybe random+random equates to nothing.

The ARP1 create work is still running as expected. It has been loading 21 new workunits every 30 minutes. The random is actually starting at the 8's as before it takes a random sleep. So it could be loaded at 8 after or up to 25 minutes after that start. Remember, that with workunits that require redundancy, it takes it a bit to show validation keeping up. It usually tails by about how long the deadlines are.

Suppose 21 is really 42 at quorum 2.

And with maybe 42000 threads chasing 42 units, that is only 1 in a 1000, but why so many references to other platforms?
