I currently have 39 active ARP WUs across 6 32 cpu computers and 2 smaller computers. I could easily handle 3x or 4x during a 24 hour period. I fill up the other cpu's with MCM tasks (which there is only a trickle of, too). Anything over 8 ARP tasks on a 32 way cpu machine extends the compute time a lot.
Seems like ARP tasks are mostly released in the early hours and dry up later in the day. |

Sunday Report
No change in classifications. All 1,957 units in generations up to and including 14 seem stuck and have probably been joined by 34 from generation 145. There are 23,772 normal units in generation 146 which is the current generation. We are now 60% of the way through generation 146. There are now 9,846 units held in generation 147. 13,796 units have validated in the week, but there are 1,327,223 units to go. Based on the last 5 weeks, we would complete ARP1 in January 2027. However, improvements seem to be coming until July. Mike |

Thank you for posting these reports Mike. I find it encouraging that the estimated completion keeps moving closer!

Thank you.
Turnover has been improving but we are very close to the stuck units being the limiting factor. Once the 3 ultras get restarted, I can't see them moving faster than 2 generations per week so 81 weeks without any further problems. That would be December 2026 and counting. Mike |

If you go out to the Delft website and focus specifically on the principal investigator for this project, it is difficult to find any mention of this project. In my opinion, they have decided to move on to other endeavors. They would probably like to have the data to complete the database they are building but at some point I fully expect them to say stop and give us what you have collected so far. I really don't expect this project to fully execute all remaining work. There will come a time when it is decided to spend the money on more fruitful projects.

I agree gj82854. I think the team will give a good try to get the stuck units restarted, but there will be limits. This is science, and sometimes you learn from things that don't work as well as what works.
I'm curious about when the main clump of WUs will finish if we continue to do a generation every 2 weeks or so. I need more coffee before I work out the numbers myself. The Sunday reports make me happy too. I love to see the progress. |

The 2 weeks per generation closely lines up with my forecast end date. Removing all stuck units would only save 7% of the outstanding work so 1 month. I suspect that they may not have tried reducing the TimeStep for many of the stuck units. Mike |

We have suddenly had 3 from generation 144 validating. They may have had their TimeStep reduced.

I keep forgetting how many "cells" per generation. 35K? 36K?
