Al That could be it! If I can find a bit of spare time (!) I might have a look at the numbers in more detail, but it would be easier if WCG would just tell us! :-)This is only a guess but I have been reporting a discrepancy in the extremes and accelerated units for some time. Even more have dropped off that report this week. I think they have dropped off all the units that have not moved for some time. This also applies to the normal units. Without knowing what IBM did to the validate-assimilate-generate-feeder chain for ARP1, I doubt we'll ever get a clear picture :-( My reports are based on generations.txt and all 35,609 units are still there. My instinct is that they've stopped ARP1 because it might appear to be the primary cause of download issues because of the number of large files to be downloaded -- see adriverhoef's post on this topic in the "2022-10-14 Update (My Contributions page and Stats)" thread. This brings up the question of what is going on here? Why have they stopped issuing ARP units? The last day's returns took an average of 14 days indicating that no new units have been issued for 2 weeks. Mike I just wish WCG would tell us whether it's a temporary thing or not -- if ARP1 is going to be inactive for some time I (and, I suspect, others) can release some of the BOINC capacity we reserve for large tasks to other projects - mine would be N-Body at MilkyWay... Cheers - Al. P.S. I have noticed several upload problems since the bulk appearance of OPNG tasks -- probably not that surprising because OPNG upload files are big! So the file server access problems haven't gone away, they've just been reduced given the current work load. |

I've got Milkyway set to 0%, and WCG (ARP) set to 100% in boinc. If/ When ARP comes back, I'm ready to do some, but for now I'm on my backup project.
Wondering if my time on MW will surpass WCG soon. |

Al
I have weekly figures for generations.txt in a spreadsheet that I use for my reports, if you are interested. I could email it if you let me have your email address. Mike |

Al Mike,I have weekly figures for generations.txt in a spreadsheet that I use for my reports, if you are interested. I could email it if you let me have your email address. Mike Thanks for the offer, but I've already got the data for each day since ARP1 restarted as the individual generation.txt files and my notes on the values in the other files; if I do any more on this I'll be able to dig the data out of those as needed. Cheers - Al. |

What else should I change to get ARP work units? I’ve set it the same as every other project, turned off every other project and told it to not send me other work when ARP is unavailable. Is ARP truly out of work? It’d be nice if that was announced somewhere but WCG unlike other Boinc sites doesn’t tell us project status.

Just Jake
Based on the almost total drop off of units validated and the length of time the latest ones took, it would seem that the last units sent out were over 2 weeks ago. The lack of information about it seems to be endemic at Krembil. Mike |

The latest figures show just 5 units validated in 24 hours after an average of nearly 17 days. This equates to the last new units being sent out on 18 October.
