Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Think of how much more smoothly things would go if lawyers were paid to successfully complete projects, instead of by the hour...

Thanks to the WCG team for standing up to the legal team and getting a solution that doesn't require the stat site admins to sign legally binding contracts.

Corporate lawyers are salaried positions exempt from overtime, they receive regular paychecks like anyone else and aren't paid by the hour.

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

We continue to be in daily contact with the lawyers. We're equally frustrated with how long this has taken but we don't want to settle without pushing as aggressively as possible for a process that's as volunteer-friendly as possible. i.e. We're focusing on the long term outcome, even if it means extending the short-term inconvenience longer than we hoped. Please bear with us, we're getting there!

Sincere thanks,
Juan

Bravo!

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Sad, but WCGsig signature showed up delayed by one day, but fell off the grid for all subsequent days since.
BOINCStats has updated regularly since...

WCBsig has been my bragging rights, but has been DOA since first release day....

Hoping @WCGsig can accurately report me again soon.

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Admins & techs, here's another issue!

So, recently I needed 10 more members to get from Golden to Ruby badge for recruitment...2 of those choose to "remain hidden", so now I need 12 more members to get to next badge!

This is ridiculous!
I have already recruited those members & just because they want to "remain hidden" they don't count towards "badge recruitment"?! WTF is that?!

We have stressed for significant number of times that those members need to be all marked as hidden profiles - without the name, number or anything else. Now we even loose those guys that we recruited. Do you know how hard it has been to recruit others?! Can you even comprehend how much I've "given away games" for recruitment?!
Here's a link, only to games on SG, where some of them had been given away: https://www.steamgifts.com/user/KLiKzg [with over $2.700+]
Others, have been given away over Gleam.io: https://gleam.io/sites/182747-klikzg/finished-competitions
As someone who has invested some $3.000+ worth of games to be given away & recruit people to crunch for WCG - I demand an answer: When are you going to fix recruitment?

As stated before, I have recruited 15 full members & I don't think that's OK to loose them just because they requested to "remain hidden". Hide the profiles data, hide the data, don't put any links on profiles, don't show their usernames. But don't hide them all together, just put some "hidden user" or something else.

I'm so pissed off on WCG right now, that I'm going for a walk. & think hard is it worth to come here back anytime soon!
cool

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

I don't have any recruits hidden, so I can't speak with any certainty, but the two statements that you copied are not mutually exclusive. All it says is that two members are not shown. It does not say that they are not contributing, neither does it say that they are not counted towards your recruitment badge total. IF they are contributing, and IF they are not counted, then I agree with you.

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

And now the state of California wants to get into the act with their own version of a privacy act to take effect in 2020. Can we get out in front of this one?

California's attempt at this will be on very shaky ground as this would definitely be considered "interstate" or "international" commerce and therefore authority to regulate is specifically granted to the federal government and denied to the states.
