What's the best deal on a pre-built system(s)? What are you looking for? That's kind of a broad question. If you are looking for a prebuilt Ryzen 7 system, check the usual suspects. (I see your sig has US as your country). So if you have costco, sams club, etc you can check there. I usually prefer to build my own systems. You get more bang for the buck usually. Sometimes prebuilt can be cheaper, but you may not be able to futureproof it like when you are building something. |

I haven't seen a AMD Ryzen of any kind at Sam's Club...deal or no deal. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by BladeD at Oct 5, 2017 6:34:47 PM] |

If you're buying a crunch machine and your main consideration is cost then go Ryzen, just don't expect much from it, if they were all they were claimed to be the price wouldn't have nose dived, AMD don't sell cheap CPU/GPU's because they love you they sell them cheap because they're inferior. As someone who bought the marketing bull and bought a 1700x at launch i'm well aware of this. To get a machine that's almost stable i've had 2 different motherboards, 2 different coolers and ended up with a case big enough to hold 7 20cm fans and 4 12cm fans and it still craps out if I try and run it at 100% usage at stock speed. An 8 core Intel machine would have ended up costing less becuase I could have thrown it together and it would have run perfect like every other Intel system I've ever built - even brand new architecture like Sandy Bridge extreme when it first appeared - not 1 seconds trouble.
For 10 points what CPU do you think will be going in my next machine? pro tip - not AMD |

Just because you can't set it up doesn't mean the CPU sux. I challenge you to bring your best Intel cpu against my little 1700 non X. Friendly challenge, nothing personal. My host: https://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/host/detail/3839262 Last time I posted, I was on FA@H and some said the points was inflated. Now that I'm on my 72nd year of SCC I think it's proven enough. |
