Just ordered... HP Pavilion Power 580-137C Gaming Desktop, AMD Ryzen R7-1700 8-Core 3.0GHz, Radeon RX550 4GB, 16GB DDR4, 1TB SATA, 802.11ac, Bluetooth, Win10H $549.99 + $5 S/H This product has not been reviewed yet. Condition Factory Reconditioned , 3 months warranty by HP Found a lot of useful info on HP website for that model: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05686933 The system has a full length m.2 slot in it. I would look at picking up a small nvme ssd to put in there and move the OS over to that, and it will make the system a lot more peppy than the 7200rpm hard drive that it comes with. Use the platter drive for BOINC directory, and data storage. Just my opinion. That's how I have mine set up. Oddly it doesn't say if the 16GB is one stick of 16 or two sticks of 8, but I would guess two sticks. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 23, 2018 11:51:00 AM] |

Hi guys, if you're looking at a Ryzen7 system pay the extra few bucks/pounds/whatevers and go for the Gen 2 versions, i'll post up some figures early next week but lets just say they crunch hard - very hard. Well it’s probably time for me to report back on the 2700x, running zika it’s averaging around 160,000 points per day, I ended up buying a motherboard, ram and cpu bundle for just over £500 and stuck in a 128gb nvme ssd, the wraith cooler works fine at a base clock of 4Ghz and I run it on the latest release of ubuntu, I’m very happy with it, it’s a beast of a cpu. All I want now is a threadripper2 but it’ll probably retail at close to two grand here, that’s not a purchase to take lightly, especially if mrs D finds out ![]() |
