Hopefully, now that you understand the "cloud engagement" (CPU use, network traffic, power used) & when you see the expenses - you can show your "donation of non-profit WCG" to the tax-return.
----------------------------------------Maybe that would also show you, how to make a tool for listing our consumption of CPU time, power used & network donated to science more! ;) All other things, hope you did get prepared & that we'll see you soon after 17th... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at May 6, 2017 2:55:28 PM] |

Let's not go back to this can of worms. Don't you remember the thorough beating you took last time. The subject is DEAD ![]() |

Saw this on WCG web & forum starting at 0703UTC, not for the first time recently. Hope the IBM Cloud will bring an end to it.

It seems to take from 5 to 10 minutes before a request does not generate this message again. Cheers

Are we expecting more WUs per core or not - to tide us over the migration to Cloud? Currently with 20 cores I have 700 WUs which are unlikely to last me 48 hours when the migration occurrs. We were promise 70 WUs per core but so far with a week to go I have seen nothing.

We were promise 70 WUs per core but so far with a week to go I have seen nothing. Although it was stated that the deadlines and WU limit would be increased, I couldn't find a statement on when that would happen. A week in advance is probably too soon, but we should see the change soon. Until then it is not time to load up. I hope we can get an update on this. I plan to slowly ramp up so as not to contribute to a "run" on downloading extra work. Cheers ![]() ![]() |

I have just increased the number of work units per thread from 35 to 70. Your agents should be able to download more work now. The deadlines will not be changed until the actual migration.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Thanks, -Uplinger Thanks Keith. This means that only the server will know of the increased deadlines; The clients will still have the original deadline? Cheers ![]() ![]() |
