Thanks, Keith.
So 10k-step units (999991-999996) could have 200 generations. 20k-step units (999997), 100 generations. 50k-step units (999998), 40 generations. |

... All other batches as you have said are automated. They should be loading work every hour. ... Question: When a 1st generation workunit e.g. was sent to a Linux machine, must all next generations from that 1st generation also be done by a Linux machine. I sometimes see: "Tasks are committed to other platforms" |

As for iteration counts. RIGHT now the batches are set to do 2,000,000 steps. Thanks Keith Cheers

Thanks, Keith. So 10k-step units (999991-999996) could have 200 generations. 20k-step units (999997), 100 generations. 50k-step units (999998), 40 generations. Correct, all batches could have up to that many generations as you mentioned. We are hopeful that it will be less but need to wait on approval from the researchers. Thanks, -Uplinger |

I sometimes see: "Tasks are committed to other platforms" No, next generation work unit can be done by whoever. What you are probably seeing with that type of message is there is a workunit that attempted on say Linux first but then hit the time limit. That 2nd copy of that generation still would need to go to the same host type. As for members seeing more linux than windows, I believe it is luck of the draw. Thanks, -Uplinger |

@Keith: Thanks for the answer (on a Sunday).
I suppose you first want the opinions from the researchers about the results from the first 8 batches, before you send out the other (promised) 31 batches (40 minus 8 minus batch 999990) |

There were supposed to be 40 or so batches for CEP2 beta which we are waiting for the researchers to validate the results before releasing more. As for this beta, I do not plan on adding any additional batches, just letting the iterations to continue. Thanks, -Uplinger |

As for members seeing more linux than windows, I believe it is luck of the draw. Thanks, -Uplinger My own experiences would tend to support this, I have a linux machine that always seems to pick up some betas in this test, but on another linux machine they are a rarity. They're running a similar mix of normal WU's on a similar number of cores, so should be asking for WU's about as often as each other. No real reason I can see why one should be favoured more than the other, apart from random chance in what's coming out of the pipe when it tries to suck down some more units. |

Got two FAH2 WUs - both finished and are valid. Ran about 1.18 hrs each. Didn't see any issues on my HP Envy, running Win 10
