I've received 5 of 6 of these betas into a 2600K that's running Debian on a USB2.0 flash RAM stick.
----------------------------------------The first 3 all quit with Error status 12-14 sec into Job #1 with "process got signal 11": BETA_ E299900_ 897_ S.318.C28F2H14N10O2S2.QTDQVKXFDUBJAP-UHFFFAOYNA-N.10_ s1_ 14_ 1 BETA_ E299900_ 792_ S.318.C26H14N12O8.ZGZDLRQTVNQEQZ-BASFAYMINA-N.14_ s1_ 14_ 0 BETA_ E299900_ 927_ S.314.C30H14N8O4S2.RKBMKIVWEYVULZ-UHFFFAOYNA-N.2_ s1_ 14_ 0 The wingmen ran their copies through to the 18h cutoff and they are all Valid. I had allowed those 3 to run unattended, so multiple beta tasks probably ran simultaneously. "Hard drive" bottlenecks with the USB stick may be what caused them to crash. [Edited with later info] I ran the other 2 WUs on this machine 1 at a time by manually holding all but 1 suspended. They both ran their full 18h and their uploads to Harvard are stuck. A new resend on this machine is 10h into the task. That these didn't crash only a few sec into Job #1 adds evidence to my suggestion that the first 3 tasks crashed when running more than 1 of these WUs at a time.[/Edits] My 6th beta ran on a Windows 7-x64 machine, completed in 11h45m, not 18h. I've reported this to indicate that not all of these WUs are extremely long ones. I've got 3 Betu WU working (and they have been for a couple of days, since being downloaded) but none of them have progressed beyond about 12% before restarting.....a computer reboot following a software update threw the progress completely and it was back to square one again. Presently, each is on about 1.5-1.75 hrs duration with 7%-10% progress and 'in theory' 9.5 hours to run. So far, this doesn't look like a great test. I'm running W7 upgraded to 'W10' BTW. I note the references to Upload issues - presently I'm deeply embroiled in lack of meaningful progress issues!!!

@Rickjb, have you considered using <max_concurrent> in app_config.xml to limit multiple CEP2 tasks starting simultaneously? Details in the BOINC wiki. Note that you can have the file open in Notepad or equivalent, make a change to the limit and Save, in BOINC Manager read config files, and the new limit takes effect immediately: a great way to slowly increase the limit. I leave it at 1 when I'm waiting for new CEP2 or CEP2 beta downloads. You need this for CEP2 beta: <name>beta11</name>.

Win 7 wu not sharing very well I guess. just stopped other wu's to observe this. currently at 8.5% after 16+ hours which has improved since having more of this cpu to work with wonder if JSYKES has the same?

Nope!! WU's are back on restarts again at 4% and 6% - I have also found that I have another Beta WU on another PC that has actually finished processing correctly (exactly the same PC spec) but it is now sitting trying to upload the 19Mb result - latest is set back another 5hrs before retry.....

As far as the upload problem goes, it involves the large data file being returned to the Harvard researchers' servers. It's weekend, the researchers may not be able to act on the problem until Monday, so patience is required.
