Glad you put the finger on the sore spot(s). Kremmen a while ago already suggested that https was not needed for the CDN distributed images. Looking forward to hitting 500+ and put WCG back on the original growth path.
----------------------------------------Crunch on. Edit: Some also queried a number of months ago what had happened to Sony Vaio Team... [Edit 1 times, last edit by SekeRob* at May 26, 2016 1:58:27 PM] |

Great news, indeed! I was bracing myself for an onslaught of resend tasks as we approach 10 days out, but with some luck and your good sleuthing, we may dodge a lot of that. I also noticed the WCG splash screen now reports "Join 715K volunteers now", where just about a week ago it said 713K. Your last sentence explains that, one way or another. Either way, I'm glad to have more cycles on board and more work being chewed through each day!
Thanks for the hard work in resolving this! |

Hindcast is always 20:20 vision, when the certificate issue started, so long ago I forgot, one of the findings was to upgrade to 7.2.42 or 7.2.47 [WCG's own 'recommended'] which seemed to work for many, unbeknown to the fact that much of IBM and the Sony Vaio team were still on 6.10. If only, there'd not been this protracted issue. Upside now though is, members that were entirely in set-forget mode might eventually resume crunching... that is, if the call home setting still functions. Looking forward to this noon's number, which then is about 48 hours after the root cause solution. Crunch On. Edit typo [Edit 1 times, last edit by SekeRob* at May 27, 2016 3:48:24 PM] |

I think you meant 452 for yesterday
----------------------------------------The mid-day total is 238 so if we double that we get ~476. Which again is interesting, because IBM is only trending toward 30 so far today, while 60 is the average for that user. We have a major holiday weekend here in the US which will hit the stats a bit today and over the weekend. Our new 'normal' could be 510+ next week. Excepting of course, we are coming into the Northern Hemisphere's summer which is always accompanied by a drop. Unfortunately, it also means we have some work to do to push users to upgrade to the latest once we roll out a new version of the client. Hopefully the last on the 'To resolve png or not to resolve', we've snug up on the 500... just a little more push, but what a difference... 100 years whence we get to the anticipated number.
----------------------------------------06/01/2016 490:286:11:56:59 784,995,195 1,288,115The active device/member chart is showing it already, if you look hard: https://bit.ly/WCGMACD ... 3430 devices added to returning results and 469 members in past 7 days, in fact active members went 58,945 to 60,486 since May 1 as did active devices going from 214,959 to 217,700, with a current uptrend of > 2 std.dev. Edit: IBM Team is back on it's pre-zika production according the 60 day view: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/vi...&numRecordsPerPage=60 which I suppose is more or less totally 'set and forget'... client self-resolving. Almost 500 years
06/13/2016 496:237:18:53:42 797,427,544 1,220,533 It could drop again, because someone at BAM decided to change the 'required' project URL from http to https or the other way around. There's a thread about WCG being removed when all tasks are done, so first action to block that was to set 'allow new work' in the client and remove BAM. [Don't want to speculate on BAM reissuing the instruction until satisfied with the detach... and the automated add-back bound to fail]. |

Nearing the 500 again, 492 years two days in a row, and it's abnormally cold here FTTOTY. Not that increasing the CPU cycles in a comp does anything for years, but it certainly augments the temp in the studio. :O)))
