I flushed the cache in the CDN to hopefully clear this. We will start looking at pushing new project files into the CDN to try to see if this alleviates the issue in the future. Well, when I checked what had come in today in regards to OpenZIKA, I had at least two hosts that got stuck on those pesky .PNG files, blocking the download of everything else too. Can't tell how many overall are effected but I can see that at least on of my top-crunchers, which I unfortunately can't reach remotely, hasn't "called in" with returned WUs all day, so it looks like I need to head across town for a rooter application... Recently upgraded my home media server BOINC through TeamViewer [AES256 encryption] whilst thousands of clicks away... no heading across town option ;P) . Teamviewer [Free] works on Win, incl.W10/OSX/Lnx/Android, so even with only the tab in the back-pocket can sign in securely over 4G. (Actually I dial-in only into the Media Server which then acts as access point to the other comps on the LAN.)
In short, the word is, upgrade, don't wait and hope. (BTW there's several more point releases... got 7.6.32 on Linux through LocutusofBorg ppa, but these were not put on the download page... 7.6.29 is still the running release candidate for Windows) |

In short, the word is, upgrade, don't wait and hope. Doesn't help on android. Newest version is 7.2.15. But as long as remote administration isn't available I stick with native boinc. All my androids are set up identically with native boinc. Only one had issues loading the images. Cancelling these stuck downloads and refreshing a couple of times worked for me and the wu were downloaded. ![]() |

Android apk latest is 7.4.43... don't know if there was a backport for this fix, but afraid there wasn't.
Sticking to NativeBOINC is sticking to an Android OS prior to 5.00 without PIE... not sure if 7.4.43 would install on there. Is pre-v5.00 getting security updates from Google? If not a concern, don't bother. |

The android version of OS is 4.4 that supports PIE and if my mind isn't playing tricks on me wcg delivers only pie versions of the applications.
----------------------------------------The only purpose of this headless, psu powered devices is boinc. So I have no concerns with missing updates from Google. However cancelling these downloads and refreshing will do the trick for me. Edit: BTW my devices are rock stable in quality of returned wu. I can see a lot of errors in the wu that my wingman returned while I had none.... ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Eric_Kaiser at May 19, 2016 8:55:20 AM] |

Ah yes, PIE was since 4.1 available, as of 5.0 enforced, so 7.4.43 would install. Have very great doubt the agent has something to do with your 'rock stable'. Yes, OET/ZIKA are PIE build, else they would not run on my 6.0.1 :D

I'd installed a new ca-bundle.crt on one machine as previously suggested by knreed for linux users with this problem. (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BOINC/boinc/master/curl/ca-bundle.crt) That machine started working on OpenZika fine. All the others stalled on worthless graphics files. (Yes, I'd meant to get around to copying it to the other machines too, but I hadn't expected a new project so soon.)

At knreed et al: Is there again a traffic pileup because the .png download issue is not going away? If all members who chose to select auto-opt in are trying to get the none-essential .png slide files and they're failing, all those members in set-forget mode will be stuck again [you saw marist_college had the problem... thousands of devices!].
Same as last time when this got a fix [not a solution], production shot acutely back up, now it's acutely going down again, from 462 years on Wednesday [launch date], and now Friday down to 409. This is getting to be more than a little nuisance! ![]() |

You can... see previous threads/this one too i think, on the how-to, if you really want them.:)
I'm puzzled at you having 7.6.32, as this version just skips those hanging downloads [non-essential to crunch]... i.e. it does not stop computing tasks. |
