A first case was reported in Spain last week. :(
(Hope some of the money Mr Obama needed to take out of an other kitty to kick-start the US side effort, will be pegged as grand money for this research collaboration) |

news-medical.net is another online magazine to have taken up the story: OpenZika project uses supercomputing power to...idates to cure Zika virus |

These Interesting news threads are about thd project disease news, not about WCG in the news...for that there's a thread too.:)
In the news, much upset over the House of Representatives only having approved about a third of the requested funds and the "take it out of the Ebola research kitty". 622Million got OKayed instead of the 1.7 billion sought. "Unlike the Senate legislation, the House bill also requires that the $622.1 million be fully offset with spending cuts elsewhere." |

Good evening EMB9000,
200 million docking jobs just corresponds to what has been prepared and submitted thus far (against the first target class, NS5, out of a dozen classes). Melina (in Carolina's lab) and I will prepare and submit many more docking jobs for your computers (and ours) to crunch. Since AutoDock Vina is so fast, I think that multiple docking jobs are often combined together to create 1 work unit. It's more efficient that way, in terms of the input/output workflow with IBM. Cheers, Dr. Alex L. Perryman |

It's especially effective in combining multiple jobs together if they share the largest input files, and therefore only one copy needs to be downloaded for the combined group.
