That would be good, whether or not it needs a beta. I've just seen these numbers from StatCounter for the share of operating systems hitting web sites this April: Windows 7 44.56% I'd say that's quite a share of the market that's being missed. I'll let you know if I get one to run. Apis, could you post the link to get that Statcounter extraction page? Is it only showing Windows OSses? Curious what the Linux/Android/OS-X parts are. Thx /ot |

The StatsCounter website at:http://gs.statcounter.com/#os-na-monthly-201504-201604 allows you to get a download in csv format of all the operating systems it tracks. You can change the stat, change the region and change the time period.

Sek, I copied these from an article in The Register. That's the extent of what was given. (I wouldn't be surprised if the original data was fee-only.) Sorry I can't help with your question. |

Thx, it's how you query, where I had a faint hope you could actually trace it back to a www (for pecunia maybe). After reshuffle, global, a different world-order, April 2016 stats:
----------------------------------------Android - 29.9% The Winner W10 - 9.58% I-Ios - 11.12% W7 - 23.83% W8.1 5.51% Os-X 5.09% WinXp - 3.99% Unknown 3.12% Other - ~8.0% Still no explicit Linux part. /ot [Edit 1 times, last edit by SekeRob* at May 5, 2016 12:24:42 PM] |

Here is a copy of the csv file from the worldwide data extract from StatsCounter for operating systems. This is not specific to WCG.

First of those results has been validated: HST1_ 001273_ 000095_ AC0001_ T001_ F00395_ S00001_ 0-- Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 716 Valid 4/28/16 10:58:39 4/29/16 11:50:51 2.26 66.0 / 70.8 HST1_ 001273_ 000095_ AC0001_ T001_ F00395_ S00001_ 1-- Microsoft Windows XP Professional x86 Edition, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 716 Valid 4/28/16 10:58:38 4/28/16 13:56:14 2.76 75.7 / 70.8 Can confirm that your solution works, Mumak. It fixes both XP SP3 (OS version 5.1) and Server 2003 R2 (OS version 5.2). Both current versions of 32 bit (7.16) and 64 bit (7.14) hst1 clients have MajorSubSystemVersion set to 6. When changed to 5, the WUs are processed. Both XP and Server WUs appear to validate fine. Didn't run into the RSA key check issue. Using generic boinc clients from 7.4 and 7.6 branch. There seem to be quite a few discussions on the internet about modern microsoft compilers defaulting to version 6 and on how to get around the issue. Thanks Mumak for this! /Gurra ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Gurra at May 6, 2016 4:54:28 PM] |

I downloaded 2 tasks a bit ago and immediately got the same create-process error mentioned above, then came here checking again.
----------------------------------------My reading of this thread is that the app is NOT after all available for 32-bit windows, or at least not for Windows XP, without hacking the binary. True? I don't want to add any more to the invalid wu clutter, so I hope someone will announce, again, when an official release does work on XP. Meanwhile will crunch a few on my Mac. My reading of this thread is that the app is NOT after all available for 32-bit windows, or at least not for Windows XP, without hacking the binary. True? The app is sent to XP machines too, but due to a small bug it's not accepted by XP systems and thus errors our immediately upon starting. Unless techs fix this we need to rely on the little patch I provided. Unfortunately they haven't shown any interest in this yet... ![]() |

Maybe the techs will, maybe they wont [everything is seemingly according a schedule, and only when there's a large error set [overall], will they switch to re-active mode... and re-actions do at times peter out in nothing changing]. The XP error will doubtless be well below 1% of total. Anyway, don't expect anything to happen until MDDS has passed launch, CEP2 is running again and and and is resolved.

Well it maybe true that the XP error rate is below 1% total but that is probably because the majority of XP machines are immediately withdrawn from from this project. Sadly.
