Help Stop TB: Affinity for Windoze?

Can't hardly get a WU on a linux box, not a problem with one running Windoze.

. . . anyone else have this issue?

Is it you have an affinity for Windows, or for Linux? If there were an affinity for any platform, you'd be seeing a message that work is committed to other platforms. Are you?

I have boinc running on both a Windows and Linux and have not been receiving the TB work units. Probably because of lack or work units rather than an OS preference. Probably your Windows OS was just lucky.

Probably, working with 1 Windows box and 2 Linux.

I get the 'No tasks are available for Help Stop TB / No tasks are available for the applications you have selected' on all three, BUT in about 2 hours of using the 3/33 gambit, equally on all three boxes, I have 12 WU's on the Windows box and nothing on the linux ones.

Coincidence?

Try slightly earlier, once 1 of pair is allocated to Windows the 2nd will be.
I have mostly Linux and have been able to keep them fed most of the time, takes a few tries though.

Don't run any BOINC on Linux, but HST WU's are a scarce resource in the first place.
Be lucky that you got 12 on one box, I don't have that many among my +30 hosts combined...

Paul:

Thanks for the explanation that actually makes sense.
The next question is: On WCG, do Windows boxes really outnumber Linux machines?
