That's rather easy to understand.
A resend has a deadline of 33.6 hours.
So after 9.6 hours run time 24 hours left.
24 hours left and not yet 70% returned means: soft stop for that task.


IMHO that punishes people with fast machines and 70% is not necessarily the cut off point. I have results that were 80 and 90% done and would have easily made the deadline that were soft stopped.

I also had a work unit soft stopped after 80% completion. If left alone it would have completed the work unit 20 hours before the time due.

In production I suggest a Time Due of 9 days (instead of 10 days) with the soft stop being sent after this time and the No Reply procedure being used after the Time Due + 1 day. I think this will avoid a lot of bad feeling of being soft stopped.

Just got a beta Wu (been quite a while since I've got anything like like). Looks to be quite a long running puppy - its showing a 93+ hours left to complete. I'll play with it a bit and see how it behaves.

My Beta Wu is still cunching along. I was able to stop it and restarted it several times and it worked OK. Right now its at almost 2 hours running now and showing a bit over 6% complete. The time remaining has come down to 72 hrs and 40 minutes now. Looks like if this Wu runs to complete, it would be running about 31+ hours. We'll see if it closes down earlier than that as others are posting...though it may be Tuesday before I hit that point at the pace this puppy is running....

All of these appear to be quite long running. I just completed one on a q6600 (Windows Vista) that ran 47 hours. On my quicker machines they have run 20 to 28 hours. These are definitely not trivial WU's. The quickest one I have had is 12 hours and it was only a partial.

My bubba WU is still crunching on ..... 6.5 hrs and only 20.66% complete. Time to complete has come down to under 39 hrs. This is like watching one really long labor in progress. At this pace I wonder if this puppy will get done before its 10/01 due date since after tonight I'll only be running my laptop during each evening from basically sun down to sun up before going to work.

I know if they don't get this down to a much smaller size, there will be no way my son will be running these WUs on his laptop a few hours each night and expect anything to get done by a deadline unless they put these WUs on the 3 week turnaround timeline.

Uh-oh, I've just had several units run to normal completion but then result in Error status. The Event Log and Result Log both look normal. The units are:
