I have recently had this WU (BETA_FAHB_avx38783-ls_000054_0003_004) on one of my PC's - it would appear to have completed OK - not yet validated - but I did note that although trickle was activated, when compared to a previous beta, this one took much longer to get the first trickle time registered on the WU progress column. It would also appear to have run to 28 hours but only registered 20 on CPU - but I know that the CPU time was over 24 hours and it was still only 85% complete when I left the office - so not quite sure why there is now an 8 hour difference between the CPU and elapsed times considering it was still processing hard only 6 hours ago!!

Is it just me that noticed an oddity with the points awarded with this trickle upload.
I just spotted that at the 9th trickle it said that 349.6 points claimed. After the final, 10th, upload it dropped to 311.9 points. BETA_ FAHB_ avx38783_ 000054_ 0013_ 006_ 0-- Gizmo In Progress 9/29/15 02:32:20 10/3/15 02:32:20 9.56 / 0.00 349.6 / 0.0 BETA_ FAHB_ avx38783_ 000054_ 0013_ 006_ 0-- Gizmo Valid 9/29/15 02:32:20 9/30/15 10:21:05 10.61 / 10.62 311.9 / 311.9 So the final hour or so earned negative points? |

No, everyone has noticed points credit is as broken as it has ever been. Given the variable number of steps before soft stops i.e variable size of jobs, zero expectation. Dead horsy beating.

Would you still be doing this if all you got was a thank you and 0 "points"?

Would you still be doing this if all you got was a thank you and 0 "points"? From me the answer would be an unequivocal "Yes." And I don't even need the thank you. Cheers

Ok, the points granted based on trikcle messages are calculated from the averages returned from the grid. The value you claim is different, thus why sometimes it bounces like you have seen. I know some members worry about points, but I figured to grant even amounts the whole way through was best at the time, that way if your computer stopped at say step 40k, then you would get a good granted credit. Instead of doing say half credit per 10k on trickle messages, then the last 10k gets a huge boost. It isn't perfect, but I will see if it needs tweaking.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Since FAAH phase 2 has launched is it safe to assume there will be no more betas?

very safe to assume unless we need to fix something.
----------------------------------------Thank you everyone for your help in this last BETA. It has been extremely helpful. Thanks, -Uplinger [Edit 1 times, last edit by uplinger at Sep 30, 2015 6:12:45 PM] |

There were a few Error and Invalid results reported here yesterday. Did you investigate those and what was the outcome? Just interested because there was no feedback about them.
