Re: FightAIDS@Home Estimated Completion Date ( June 4, 2015 ) ESTIMATE!!!

Trying to get the 5y badge. 450 days to go.
I also want to upgrade my MCM badge.
9 months to go for the 2y badge.

I hope, we'll get a warning 30 days before ECD.

Re: FightAIDS@Home Estimated Completion Date ( June 4, 2015 ) ESTIMATE!!!

today my grid goes over 6M points 4 FA@h...still 9-12d away from 10y D badge! ;)

@Mathilde: my estimate recently is said that FA@h will be over by end of Sep...though we wait 4 1st Sep 2 get another estimate!
probably some speed-up will occur 'cause of d end of holidays... ;)

Maybe beta testing will slow down the speed a little. ;-)
I'm trying, to get the MCM 5yr. badge too- perhaps I can make it in the next 57.5 days. :-)

Oh, nice options.

But I think, it makes more fun to work hard for the badges with my own machines.
So it will be exiting until the last repairs have been send out from the feeder. biggrin
If I miss a badge- no problem. smile

Re: FightAIDS@Home Estimated Completion Date ( June 4, 2015 ) ESTIMATE!!!

Well, I propose a yet another method of computing ECD. biggrin
The latest WU I received is named FAHV_x1HEG-AS_0899675_0704_0 with 899675 pretty much resembling the batch number. Assuming also that the batches are of the same complexity, let's do the math:

Starting: Jul 24, batch no. 896692.
Current: Aug 06, batch no. 899675 -> approx. 229 batches/day.
Remaining: 8898 batches, about 39 days at this rate.
ECD: Sep 14.

UPDATE:
2nd check unit: Aug 06th, batch no. 899675
current: Aug 18th, batch no. 901618 (latest downloaded, not delivered)
difference: 1943 batches
remaining: 6736 batches
about 41d remaining...
ECD: Sep 29th

4 next week I have 2 much business...so this is an ECD 4 end of Aug:

3rd check unit: Aug 18th, batch no. 901618
current: Aug 28th, batch no. 0902651 (latest downloaded as listed in results status, not delivered)
difference: 1033 batches
rate of deliverance: 103 batches/day
remaining: 5703 batches; or about 55d
new ECD: 22nd Oct

on an image of Excel same data is visible, a slowdown of FA@h:

so @Mathilde, u have been heard...guys r abandoning FA@h so that ALL of us get out badges...
I'm also 150d from 10y D badge...so in about week time I'm of project also with all my 100+GF...
wink

@admins, please advise that FA@h is in a slowdown...my suggestion is that in Advent time (if it's not finished by that time) u KICK UP d priority of FA@h & get the project over?! so that scientist could have a present 4 Christmas!
cool

Re: FightAIDS@Home Estimated Completion Date ( June 4, 2015 ) ESTIMATE!!!

If the batches aren't sent sequentially by batch number, using batch numbers seems highly inaccurate. There are still batches in the 898xxx series that haven't run. During the last few weeks, they skipped back and sent work in 898200 to 898700 range. Were those batches counted in your last estimate? There may not be a slow down, the batches being executed just didn't fall in your 901618 to 902651 range

There's charts and charts of course: http://bit.ly/WCGFAaH for multiple parameter view [and left/right and center being overtaken in the result rankings, as I'm not doing FAHV, except when it sneaks in via the 'If there's no work...'

it doesn't mater!

why?
we still have to get 2 batch 908354!

also, if d calc is wrong & we had d extra of 500 batches sent (or resent)...that also means that we had about 1500 batches in 10d...
compared to almost 2000 batches in 12d in summer (holiday time slow-down)!

in other words - people r switching OFF from project...so that anyone can get their BADGEs...like I'm also in a week time, but will keep a track of progress...oding it by "simple math"!
wink

anyway - we'll know more in a 10-15d time...about our averages! cool
