On the BOINC manager, advanced view, can you allow WCG to download a few tasks?
----------------------------------------Just suspend the POEM@home tasks and allow WCG to get work (maybe you need to attach again or maybe you need to click on "allow new tasks" button). Then tell me what tasks it downloaded and started running. Don't worry, I'll help you :) ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I had the community grid on the Boinc before. It was downloading and running cancer mapping and the Harvard clean energy project. I will have to add back Community Grid to test this again. I took the community grid off and removed it because it was running so slow that I had to abort some projects because it wasn't going to be done by the due dates. I thought I was messing things up for you all.
When I was rebooting on the windows 7 laptop all the work for clean energy vanished on me and restarted. I was afraid I was messing up your systems. |

I would deselected the Clean Energy Project from your profile.
----------------------------------------It is very disk-intensive and as you noticed when rebooting and losing progress, it checkpoints very unfrequently. All the other projects should be fine :) You can here to change the projects - https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProjects.do If you have more than one profile, then go here ( https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewDevices.do ), find your laptop and click on the corresponding profile. If you see both your computers there and both with the "default" profile, then just change the projects in the link I mentioned above. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Yes, there is.
----------------------------------------Go to https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewDevices.do Under "Device Manager" click Device profiles. Then click "create a new BOINC device profile for work/school/home" Choose one of those. Now, select "Custom Profile". Now select the projects you want and scroll down the page. If you want to run more than 1 CEP2 task, find "Project Specific Settings" - "Number of workunits per host for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2?" - select the number you want (I think you should stick with 1) Then click save. Now go back to "Device Manager" and click on the computer you want to use the new profile. Then just change it in the "Current assigned device profile". And save. Done :) ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I misinterpreted a bit your question.
----------------------------------------Just assign separate profiles to your computers with the settings you want. Use the default profile for the laptop that can't run CEP2 and the other profile you create for the other computer that can run CEP2. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Ahhhh!!! OK! tyvm Falconet! I have this thread bookmarked too! :) I'll let the current Poem@home projects finish and try this again. Maybe I can get hubby to help me if needed or I get stuck. These projects I want to do are driving him nuts which is why I am here asking questions.
kk I am off to attempt this again! :) tyvm Falconet!! |
