Just in case you didn't notice the News article. But this will take the site down for about 8 hours. Hopefully it's quicker, but this is a major change for us and the site will only be showing a "maintenance" page during a majority of the change. Please note that your clients will back off as uploading and downloading new work will also be disabled. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Just got word from our hosting and the outage could be up to 18 hours. They expect it to be less of course, but worst case is 18 hours. I am sorry for this late notice change.

I will try to keep members up to date on Twitter. If all goes well, I'm hopeful the first stage will allow us to get the forums back up quickly. But with testing this could take time. Also, this is not a common change for us, so giving estimates would be like throwing darts blindfolded.

We are increasing our database capacity. Which will hopefully allow us to get away from LONG time period when the stats are run. This does mean newer servers, but also updates to the database software.
As a side note, I have increased the deadlines on the servers for all results that have a due date between now and Sun Feb 8, 0300 UTC to have a deadline of Feb 8, 0300 UTC. From my query, that was 41k results that needed this updating. Thanks, -Uplinger |
