Anyone who gets the error -155 trying to attach to wcg with 7.4.x agents on windows, which included me reproducing the issue, needs to follow the instructions as given in this faq: http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?view=349 1) identify the exact path where the boinc data directory is, printed in the event log at startup, in my case it being g:\boinc\ 2) open a terminal/command window and enter the below, where the quotes are required if there are spaces anywhere in the path names: cd /d "g:\boinc\" 3) enter the boinccmd, again with quotes if there are spaces in the path names of folders where the account key, a 32 character code, is found at 'settings > my profile' on the website. Replace 'accountkey' with your code. "c:\program files\boinc\boinccmd" --project_attach www.worldcommunitygrid.org accountkey The path for 32 bit agent installs on 64 bit windows could also be: "c:\program files (x86)\boinc\boinccmd" --project_attach www.worldcommunitygrid.org accountkey Eight years after the faq was raised there's a regression in at least 7.4.26. Going back to 7.2.42 or 7.2.47 of wcg is the other know solution! I just ran into this the other night after a clean install of Windows, and this solved my problem. Thanks! :) |

after using the "correct" weak accountkey, this solution worked for me. (was using weak key from another project thinking it was the same across projects. silly me :) )

So far I have looked around the web and found out that the issue may be solve with a earlier version of Boinc (earlier than 7.4). I have not tried this yet because they state that support for os x 10.10 Yosemite has been added to the latest version of Boinc, version 7.4.26.
I have found out that I may resolve the problem with the above method. However I do not know how to do it on my mac. I have tried to enter "boinccmd" in terminal but the command does not exist. Therefore I hope you know how I can solve it. P.S to make it clear, my version of Boinc is 7.4.26. regards |

Hi, I'm trying this, with several variations of .txt .xml as ends to the text file in both /Library/Application Support/Boinc Data and /Library/Application Support/Boinc. I'm not running the world grid distro, I'm running Boinc's own v7.4.26 and get the "no email address found" error when trying to add my account through the client.
I pasted in my weak code using text edit, generated the file and moved as detailed interspersed with rebooting the Boinc client. Running Mavericks 10.9.5 Any recommendations as to where I should be moving the file or other ways around this error? Maybe theres something more in this thread but most of whats posted looks topical to Windows. Regards |

Acanterelle,
Try the newest version from Berkeley which has corrected the error: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.4.36_macOSX_i686.zip |
