Thread: Boinc having "nothing to do" for World Community Grid on Android |

My recently installed Boinc client (Fairphone, Android 4.2.2) does not download any tasks for WCG, while the Boinc client on my pc does. The phone runs Boinc and the pc runs Boinc-WCG software. Both use the same account and both devices have their own entry using device profile "Default" in the World Community Grid account settings. Any ideas?

What sub-projects do you have selected at WCG? Currently, FightAIDS@Home is the only one that has an application for Android; you'll have to make sure that it's one of your selected projects, or that you have checked "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project."
----------------------------------------If you have AIDS as one of your projects, check the message log from your phone for clues as to why you're not getting any work; insufficient memory, etc. |

Any ideas? Android Boinc only works with ARM processors. What type of processor does your Fairphone phone have? |

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairphone its http://www.mediatek.com/_en/01_products/04_pro.php?sn=1081 (MT6589M ARM Cortex-A7 Prozessor).

No workunits. I am considering to throw Boinc out again since this problem is apparently untroubleshootable.
My config has all boxes checked. |

How much memory does the phone have, and what are your settings? Note that Android BOINC doesn't take computing preferences from the projects yet, they are all set locally.
----------------------------------------The Android client is still fairly new, and there are a lot of things that have yet to be implemented, and plenty of problems to be tracked down and solved. There is a Google Group for the Beta versions of the Android client, but I don't know of an "official" channel for general release Android support. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/boinc-android-testing |
