No workunits. I am considering to throw Boinc out again since this problem is apparently untroubleshootable. My config has all boxes checked. I would give it a try with Nativeboinc. With my first tablet (341 days total run time, dual core, Tegra2) I started with Nativeboinc, switched to official BOINC client later, on the new smartphone the same, first check with that polish version to proof all cirumstances and adjust battery issues. 1GB RAM should be sufficient for quad core ARMs. CPU-Z shows 27 percent free RAM (~240MB), 11 workunits pending, 2 valid, no errors, no invalid, 4 in progress, all cores at max clock rates running, 27 degrees Celsius when working down at a cool window ledge, it´s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8x26). Hope you get your fairphone in crunching mode, fair production and sharing distributed computing would be an outstanding combination. |

I didn't know Nativeboinc yet.
In http://nativeboinc.org/site/for_users/install it says "Next screen will have two options, which you will can use at installation. There are 'Access password' and 'Hostname'. First option allow to you determine password, which will be used during the authorizing remote connection with other BOINC manager (for example on the desktop PC). In this case, password is needed to make remote connection. Next option is the hostname setting. You can use to choose own hostname." I have no clue what host this is supposed to refer to. I certainly never set one up, unless the boinc software itself classifies as a host. Anyway, (since) I did not enter anything there, no projects show and selecting "Start up" generates: "Error Unable to authorize access". Any ideas? |

Regarding preferences, have you tried decreasing the number of cores used to lessen the memory overhead?

Simply add one BOINC project with the common installation : list selection of the projects or URL, then username + password. Attention with WCG, troubleshooting :
Please enter in email address field your username instead email address. Should work. |

When I select the "Projects" tab, no projects are displayed. Above "Projects, Tasks, Transfers, Messages, Notices" it says: "Not Connected".
When I select "Connect" from the Menu, NativeBoinc asks me to "Select host", displaying a List containing only one entry: "nativeboinc" with localhost IP. What place does NativeBoinc want to connect with? I do get frequent "unable to authorize access" messages. |

When I select "Connect" from the Menu, NativeBoinc asks me to "Select host", displaying a List containing only one entry: "nativeboinc" with localhost IP. Yes, that is your (kind of local) device with a standard designation, didn´t you activate it ?What place does NativeBoinc want to connect with? I don´t know, you have to ask experts with analyzing tools or something I am just a user.IMO Nativeboinc specifies a device - to be activated by tipping on it - which is connected this way to the project listings to fetch prepared settings (name of the projects, url) to make it easier to join. An example of not listed project is WUProp (http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/), running also on ARM devices, it shows results from all projects, even separately ARM running times for WCG FightAIDS. http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/arm.py?pro...n=FightAIDS%40Home+-+Vina But I can´t identify any common device name for a fairphone in that result list, mostly the producer name is transfered, in case of fairphone ... maybe your´s would be the first in the list. |

I reinstalled the client and now I get to choose from a list of projects. When I try to add a WCG project by selecting the project entry and providing email and pw for my WCG account, I get:

WCG doesn't use the email address at login. Use the login info you use when you come to this site.

That hint actually helped!
Even though nativeboinc asks for the email it accepts the username as input ID. Unfortunately this causes a new error: "Lookup project account http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/: Invalid password (error: -206)" I have checked (even changed) the password multiple times but I always got the same error. |

I never tried adding WCG that way with nativeBOINC. I always just attached using the account manager BOINCStats BAM!. It is much simpler to attach projects that way. Even more with devices using a touchscreen keyboard. Possibly add it that way if you don't mind setting up an account there.
