Does WCG show your device on the website under your devices? Device is not listed, I have installed the program twice. It will not download and resorts to next communication scheduled in 24 hours. Never had this problem on previous versions, just on this latest version. I know the phone is acceptable as I have 2 of them and the other one is working just fine....on a previous version of BOINC. How can I get the previous version instead of the latest and not so greatest?

Can't get that to work because it's not accessible through PlayStore and there's no software on the phone to open these files if I save it directly to my phone.
----------------------------------------Any other suggestions? Amazing how many more devices there'd by if the programmers didn't assume everyone has a Galaxy 2 or higher phone.

How can I get the previous version instead of the latest and not so greatest? Manual installation, you can find any publiced BOINC version in the download list:http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/ I managed to get it working... I installed 7.2.41 from the above link. Launched, loved in, and then it auto updated (from play.Google I think). After the update the app restarted and start download tasks and perform the calculations... Hope it works for you too.

I installed 7.2.41 from the above link. Tried that, all I get is a message...Cannot download. The content is not supported. I know it is supported because I have 2 of these phones (Samsung SCH-S720C) and the other one is running just fine, has been for about 6 months now. Any ideas?

Have you checked the "unknown sources" from the security settings of your device?? I don't see that option under security or any other tabs in settings. The phone received and installed todays update so I know it's communicating with BOINC but it still will not download any WUs. Oh and now it pops up with a message The application BOINC (process edu.berkeley.boinc) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And I'm getting this on ALL Android devices since todays update. Don't think they checked this one out before distribution. I tried uninstalling, resetting phone, reinstalled and now it won't even let me select a project, BOINC keeps crashing as mentioned above. I give up.

There is a bug in the latest update, again.
I had to replace a HD Fire last week and I spend four days down loading different versions of Boinc trying to get them to work and none of them would work right....I finally gave up and instead picked the Einstein project and it works fine now. |
