Since I have recently learned the following information from WCG there is no calculable end date. However I will still attempt to track the progress as it occurs. A big thanks to the WCG staff for making this available. I have decided to leave the original quote in for the time being as it still addresses the question of additional work. In the recent past an additional estimate of 4000 more batches were added.
----------------------------------------Recently another estimated 5,000 batches were added to the project. We are not able to say the exact number of additional batches that will be added in the future, but we are fully expecting to receive more work units for the Mapping Cancer Markers project. The researchers will turn to other cancer-type work units when the current ones near completion. Last 30 day average results:587,354Percentage Complete:Currently listed on the Research page:55%. The average length of a WU is currently running about 4.10 hours, slightly shorter than the last time I posted, but continuing to trend steady at around the 4.20 hour mark consistently. The average length of a work unit this past week varied between 4.09 and 4.23 hours. This continues to be remarkably steady. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 134966 which would give about 203 batches for the week. The batch count for last week was 152. Production decreased this past week going from about 3.4 million WU's to 3.82 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just slightly over an average of 258 years per day, up somewhat from the past week's 233. Originally we had 17,500 batches plus 9000 more batches, plus 5000 more batches (all approximate) for a total of 31,500 batches. Now we have an estimated 4000 more batches for a total of 35,500 batches. Since the percentage complete was moved back to 55%, I am estimating an additional 27,500 additional batches have been added which would give a new total of 63,000 total batches. At 10,000 work units per batch, this would be 630,000,000 work units (double redundancy), so total of 1,260,000,000 work units. As of today(July 30) we have processed 698,586,825 units. This would be about 55.4% of the known work units. Based on the 30 day running average the current work units should last to about March, 2020 (no change from 2 weeks ago). This not an end of project projection, just a projection of a probable end of the current (maybe) known work units. ![]() Cheers
Sgt. Joe

Hopefully, these new Ryzen and Intel X series processor with 16 cores can speed this project up. I am looking to buy the i9-7920 processor soon!

Thank you Sgt. Joe :)

i only wish is that this world should be cancer free forever Probably this won't happen in my life time but our work will make that happen for generations to come. |

Quantum computers are still in its very early stage and this would be again not something I would see in my life time probably.... Man.... I wish I live long enough to see my work on cancer thriving! I currently have 32years on MCM and 2 years SCC. |

Well, this is the race: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/447250/...in-must-keep-pushing-hard IBM is developing one: https://researchweb.watson.ibm.com/ibm-q/ Google is developing one: https://www.technologyreview.com/s/604242/goo...ntum-computing-supremacy/ China is developing their own: https://futurism.com/china-develops-a-quantum...could-eclipse-all-others/ My sources say that US has 2, but they are kept in agencies (not to mention which). ![]() |

The researchers will turn to other cancer-type work units when the current ones near completion. Last 30 day average results:587,354 Percentage Complete:Currently listed on the Research page:55%. For a while it had bounced up to 56%, but I see it regressed to 55%. This means the scientists probably added more work units again. The average length of a WU is currently running about 4.14 hours, slightly longer than the last time I posted, but continuing to trend steady at around the 4.1 to 4.2 hour mark consistently. The average length of a work unit this past week varied between 4.09 and 4.16 hours. This continues to be remarkably steady. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 135947 which would give about 195 batches for the week. The batch count for last week was 202. Production increased this past week going from about 3.82million WU's to 3.93 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just slightly over an average of 264 years per day, up somewhat from the past week's 258. Originally we had 17,500 batches plus 9000 more batches, plus 5000 more batches (all approximate) for a total of 31,500 batches. Since the percentage complete was moved back to 55%, I am estimating an additional 27,500 additional batches have been added which would give a new total of 63,000 total batches. Since 4 weeks ago the percentage moved to 56% then back to 55%, so I estimate an additional 2000 batches were added. At 10,000 work units per batch, this would be 650,000,000 work units (double redundancy), so total of 1,300,000,000 work units. As of today(September 3) we have processed 718,272,563 units. This would be about 55.2% of the known work units. Based on the 30 day running average the current work units should last to about June, 2020 (about 2 months longer than my last estimate). This not an end of project projection, just a projection of a probable end of the current (maybe) known work units. ![]() I have changed the following chart to reflect the new estimate of 1.3 billion work units. ![]() I did not change the title on the second chart, but I will next time. Sorry. Cheers
