I'm roperw4 (roperw4@gmail.com). I'm from the University of Illinois. I'm actually wanting to contribute to writing code since I'm from the database engineering space. I'm looking to cut through this and make specefic contributions. I'm in the Austin, TX area. How do I get really plugged in!!!!! I'm very near the IBM Innovation Center here in Austin. I am serious.... Why not go to the project website and use the contact button? |

Ty for your explanation, my rough (very rough) understanding is that we are all different and need to study many of us to get the gist of the markers. Good enuf for me! 17.6 years done, and I'll keep contributing

I'm sure this has been answered hundreds of times, but why do the graphics for the Mapping Cancer Markers program contain 24 pairs of chromosomes? |

Graphics: Hello XaurreauX,I'm sure this has been answered hundreds of times, but why do the graphics for the Mapping Cancer Markers program contain 24 pairs of chromosomes? 24 pairs of chromosomes are shown because we are displaying both the X & Y (female and male) chromosome pairs. Thank you for your support, ErikaT |

Hello, my name is Denis, I am from Russia, I was interested in your digital volunteering project on mapping cancer gene markers, could you tell whether it is possible to take computing power for software not from a computer but from a mainframe farm? thank

Welcome. I'm sorry to hear you have cancer. I lost both my parents to cancer: my dad in 2002 and my mom is 2004. I've been running various programs (e.g., Lifesaver Screensaver from Oxford University, Folding at Home, etc.) since my dad passed. We appreciate that you are adding computers. The more computing power we can run against cancer the better.

sorry to hear about your cancer.
I am closing in on the 50-year badge, should have it in about two weeks. I wish you the best in your fight against it. |

I just completed 1 year of mapping cancer markers. I'm feeling good about it but aware that there is some pretty serious competition out there on the Internet. :-)
