Re: How many Android devices are now attached?

Who done it [For the daily Android total credit to double in a week]? Most certainly not the butler. Anyway, since Sept.16, the daily credit climbed from ~280K to yesterday's 570K [orange/brown dots]. By some reading around it appeared that the development team has been kind of sole focused to bring a stable Android client to the Google Play store, certainly see that a 7.2.17 build is out now. [All other client builds are on hold, 7.2.16 for Windows an install dud]. Has that 'focus' been doing the trick, since the purple dots tell that just small daily device additions are recorded, implying that prior registered devices have started to contribute / crunch more successfully.

(Like Vasily was allowed to ping only once , I do too, in aa day ;)

That was also when Slashdot posted a story about it, and when I joined (many other probably followed suit). I had never heard of WCG at that point. Added it to my phone first then PCs a few days later.

Re: How many Android devices are now attached?

Hopefully many more who find an entry-point via the Android client to expand crunching to their [much] more powerful laptops, notebooks and desktops or servers... Android as a 'spread the word' vehicle. Curiously, when I checked few days ago why the Android totals at BOINCstats had moved from line 22 to 23 in the order of contributing OSses, the explanation was that 195 Windows 8.1 installs [since about mid-ish October], had overtaken the accumulated total Android contribution of 16,000 devices [installs] since July 22. From some presentation of the workshop13, it said that globally, Android had contributed 700,000 results, as at Sept.19 [WCG only]. (Who wants to know more watches the Joachim Fritsch video)

Re: How many Android devices are now attached?

I added mine.
Running 2 FAV tasks. Currently at 84.3% and 80.8% after about 14 hours elapsed.
Not too bad. Also the battery drain seems actually small. I have it set for using both cores at 100% while running on battery and it has lost 19% in about 1h and 30 minutes.
Says it has 16 hours of battery left :D
Battery temp is also good(32 celsius).

16625 devices added according to boincstats.

AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W

Re: How many Android devices are now attached?

Hello Falconet ,
I have never tried this myself, but I have heard that many mobile devices run cooler plugged in with the battery removed.

Re: How many Android devices are now attached?

Yeah I tried that already. It doesn't turn on without the battery.
But 30 celsius degrees now is actually almost the normal temperature which is usually around 26-28º.

Thanks Lawrence
