Good Morning All. Another wet day forecast here and I still haven't cut the grass. I hope it doesn't get too high before a dry spell.

Evening Team,
----------------------------------------I have decided to upgrade my computer around next Christmas. I will be able to get the Kaby Lake i7 with 10 cores/20 threads as well as the new 3D XPoint memory and SSD to match. It should be a hell of a crunching machine. Thankfully I'm a patient person. ![]() |

That sounds like an expensive processor Darkmatter. My i7-4770S is due for an upgrade this year, but I don't think I'll stretch that far.

I expect it to be around the £800 mark, I have been saving for a while and I would like the best I can get for my money.

Good morning all. For once it was cool enough for a lie in until 8am - completely decadent. DarkmatterNI that sounds like some machine - I await you zooming past me in the rankings come next year. If only I could afford to update my Macs

Good evening everyone.
Been a horrendous day, turned PC on as usual only there appeared to be no network access. Tried (without actually using grey matter ). Concluded that I need a new NIC, so rushed out, 2 hours to a suitable shop and back. Tried to fit new adapter, no wrong type. Then spent 6 hours trying to fault find (without engaging brain). Then noticed that the existing NIC seemed to want to connect to 10.x.x.x network. About an hour later I convinced the PC to connect to a 192.168.1.x network and all is well. What hurts is that this type of error is something I would have diagnosed this much sooner just 10 years ago. Hope age is not counting. ![]() |
