Good Morning All. It promises to be a bit cooler today (34C) and there is a bit of a breeze too. The Peacocks seem to be getting more and more vocal and I am sure that the males are fighting as well as trying to attract the rather dull females. I am told that the activity (ahem!) peaks early next month. Hopefully there will be a respite after then.

That's it then genhos. Another tub of home made ice cream in the freezer - chocolate flavour this time. Only 6 hours to wait before it is possible to sample, mmmmmmm.

Good evening all.
----------------------------------------That's it then genhos. Another tub of home made ice cream in the freezer - chocolate flavour this time. Only 6 hours to wait before it is possible to sample, mmmmmmm. Just sooooooooo unfair, choccy ice-cream. Having to wait 6 hours. I'm not drooling. Maybe a smidge. Possibly a bit more. OK, lots more! Enjoy when it's ready, especially if those male peacocks are still having their "activity" moments. Clockwork - how's the server going? Still crunching away nice and happily after it's minor mishap? |

genhos, it's called churnless ice-cream. Take 2 cups (500 ml) of cream and whip it until it is in soft peaks. Take a 400 ml (14 ounce) can of condensed milk and mix in two desert spoons of cocoa powder and a splash of milk. Mix gently with the whipped cream and pour into a freezer proof container. Freeze for at least 6 hours, I have just tasted some - heaven. I can't see it lasting very long.
----------------------------------------On another tack I think that 3 days will see Team UK reach 3 billion points. Counting down has commenced. What a pity jhonnyb-uk is not around to celebrate with a mega stats issue.

I love ice cream, but it costs so much to buy. Going to give your recipe a try.
----------------------------------------I assume you can change the cocoa powder to what ever you want, including bits of proper fruit, Like bananas with a drop a banana essence maybe? One could get quite creative with the flavours and colouring. When you say soft peaks, do you mean it is whipped up like thick cream in a cake or just before that point? ![]() |
