The lack of project choice and the deafening silence from WCG is giving rise to increased chatter in the forum. And yes I've had chipped in my tuppence worth. wink

Re: Morning Update III

I finished my new PC last week... a I7-4770 system. I have decided to dedicate 50% of my CPU to WCG when I don't need it (which is most of the time!) and also to leave my PC on 24/7.

I have used the stock cooler and it is rubbish. I can only get the system running at 50% before temps go over 70degs so I have a new watercooling system arriving Monday. That should double my processing capacity.

I also restarted my Azure system yesterday as my Azure subscription renewed.

As you say... hopefully, more to come.
----------------------------------------

1) Home PC - Win10, Intel I7-4770, 32GB - on 24/7 75% CPU
2) Heart Internet VPS - Linux Centos7, 2 cores, 2GB Ram, 50%
3) Azure VM - Linux Centos7, 2 cores, 2GB Ram, dedicated 100%

Re: In Other News

While FAAH should keep people from running dry, a little variety would be good, or maybe we got too used to a variety of projects here? I seem to recall BarnsleyTatts saying they had signed up elsewhere for GPU work to crunch.

Indeed I did. GPU Grid. Having 2nd thoughts now though, as the 'small' WUs take around 12 hours, and the 'large', well, the last large one I did took 34 hours!!
