Welcome to the team. I've been a bit absent for the forums as of late. But it's great to see a highly active person join the team.

And to follow on from themoonscrescent the Daily Global5000 stats list all the people who are active that day who rank in the top 5000 of either Run Time, Points, or Results for the same day.

For example I ranked 752 for RT, 411 for points, and 277 for results.

We also get stats which predict when people will gain a Top5000 rank, I think based on a 28 day average.

jonnieb-uk is awesome with the statistics he produces each day. We all love it.

Global5000 is the readily available listing of the top 5,000 WCG members, AllTime or Daily, by RunTime. Points, Results.

My thinking was that being in, or reaching, this elite group, is a cause for celebration. Consequently I report regularly on positions within the group and on the progress of members who aspire to join.

Underpinning all my stats is the belief that everyone likes to see their "name in lights" from time to time and that this is an important motivational tool.

The logic of this fails because probably no more than 30 of the team's members ever visit this thread and we have no other way of communicating with them. I live in hope that this will be addressed by WCG at some time in the medium term future.

I also believe that having a vibrant team thread in the forum keeps the UK team in the pubic eye and may attract new WCG members who are casually browsing the forum. Ideally the thread should always be on the first page of Recent Threads
