Well, you just couldn't make it up - it seems this hosting company really don't want customers!

After emailing them on Sunday, with a few questions, I was very impressed to get a detailed and helpful reply within 15 minutes, so that sealed my decision to rent a server from them for a month as a tester, with a view to buying a 6-month chunk if it worked as expected.

However, when the required server was back in stock, I tried to put an order in, got a pop-up message saying my email-address already existed on a system, and the payment page just sat there saying "processing... please wait".

So, to avoid the potential of getting (and having to pay for) two servers, I dropped them another email to query whether the first order had gone through and, if it hadn't, how should I get around the email-address issue?

While waiting, I tried the "forgot password" facility with that email-address, only for it to say my email-address didn't exist...

After a few lengthy delays between replies (their 15-minute response on the Sunday was obviously an anomaly), and confirmation from my bank that nothing had gone through or shown up, I decided to just try ordering the server (which was now back in stock again) with a slightly different email-address (I own/control my domain anyway so can make up as many addresses as I need - very helpful when dealing with companies and trying to track spam-sources down).

So, this time, it got past the bit where it checks the email-address, only for a nice polite "Card declined" message when trying to process the payment - again, checked with the bank, and no pending payments or even transaction-attempts showed on my account, so I've now dropped the hosting company yet another email to query the reasons behind it - I'll no doubt get a response on Sunday, when the guy who deals with emails returns to an Inbox of about 1,000 messages.

It's just been one of those weeks! sad

Yep, I've got Kimsufi on my list, but their biggest (sensibly priced) server is a 16-thread one, compared to the 24-thread one from WSI, so I wanted to try to get the 24-thread one working first, if possible.

If the WSI-saga carries on like it is, though, I'm tempted to just resort to Kimsufi instead...
