Judging by the performance on your signature, when you say "Mamajuanauk is the Name! Crunching is the Game!", you certainly mean it! I have a really bad habbit of not doing things by half!Looking forward to having you on board. I have added an old Centrino 1.6 GHz dual core laptop with 2.5 GB RAM to the fleet today. Needless to say performance wont be great! As has been said, any addition is welcome...FYI (and don't ask for more info yet, it's too early!) I'm planning a new build...

FYI (and don't ask for more info yet, it's too early!) I'm planning a new build... My guess is going to be a 16-CPU monstrosity with Xeon E7-2697v2's (12-core 2.7GHz) and 48 x 400GB 2.5" SSDs and 2TB of RAM (128GB per CPU) - the place I'm planning on getting my "beast" server from prices that lot up at just over £210,000 plus VAT - oh, and it uses FOUR 1620W PSUs (it's an eight-node 4U chassis), so personal sub-station required! ![]() I know you said not to ask for info, but am I close? ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Thargor at Jul 19, 2014 6:53:31 PM] |

Morning all.

I'll agree with that @Thargor, it would be nice to not have to worry about the MOT but then there's the first MOT to pass ![]() |

No, that system is over the top even for me! I have a "SUPERMICRO MBD-X9DRI-F-O" MB that I've had for a while, I'm looking to do something with that. It takes E5-26xx's just haven't decided what else should go with it... Suggestions?????

I would suggest a new thread, in the chatroom if anyone wishes to suggest components... I can see why taking this to a chat room thread would be useful in gaining input from non-UK users but IMO we can discuss anything and everything in this thread that might be of interest to team members. Keeping this thread vibrant and health with regular posts by different members is a good advertisement for the UK team and of more interest generally than my monotonois stats posts. ![]() |
