I paid by Paypal and have had a swift reply to a query, I'll let you know how it takes to get the server online...

Ahh, I don't have a PayPal account, and don't particularly want to set one up - have heard too many horror stories from friends about them. Which WSI address are you contacting, to get a quick reply from? It seems the "sales" one is either ignoring my emails, or they're insanely busy.

EDIT: and, 10 minutes after I submitted this post, I finally got a reply from them, to say it's likely their automated c/c gateway must have detected that my IP address is too far away from my billing address (errm, what sort of protection method is that?), and to re-try with that card, another card, or just to use PayPal.

Will think about whether I want to use PayPal, when I get home later...

Ahh yes, the documentation I found did say the support-link was the quickest way to do it, when you're a customer - unfortunately, I don't count as one yet, so no login to access it! sad

You really couldn't make it up, part 2...

I set up a PayPal account, did all the required card/account linking, and tried the order with Wholesale Internet again. The different email-address I used is now also apparently on their systems, so it wouldn't let me order AGAIN! The difference, this time, is that PayPal show the payment as having completed - if WSI don't get this sorted today, then I'm disputing that payment and never touching them again - I've lost all patience with them! sad

EDIT: confidence/patience somewhat restored, the helpful rep from the weekend jumped in, sorted everything out with my account & order, and the server's now in the build-queue! smile

Result! It worked in the end...

Let me know what you're running and we can compare notes/results. May be worth moving to a new thread though...

I'll post some stats when it's been running for a few days. I'll be running MCM only...
